No New Posts Pokemon Lab

The central Pokemon Lab of the Aina Region, run by a local professor of some renown. Aspiring new trainers, both residents and tourists in the region, are encouraged to stop by to obtain a starting Pokemon and some gear that will help them navigate the region.

Note: You do not have to actually post here to claim your starter. It can be assumed that it's already done.

The business areas of Lani City are a mix of the old and the new. While major chain stores and modern business are popping up all over, many areas of the city remain true to their roots: locally-owned businesses promoting Aina-made products. They’re becoming fewer and farther between by the day, though.

No New Posts Seabreeze Road

Seabreeze Road runs southwest along the coastline between Lani City, Moana City, and Kahakai Resort City. Named for the strong ocean breezes that blow almost constantly along the route, Seabreeze Road has a strong ‘Route 1’ vibe to it, with lots of open space and plenty of easy to catch and train Pokemon.

As one of two cities on the West Side, Moana City gets a lot of traffic from tourists and locals alike. Only small parts of the city have gone through the same sort of modernization as Lani and Kahakai, so most of it still has a traditional Aina flair. It has a large marina, a bustling shopping district, and enough to do to satisfy almost anyone passing through. The Water Gym can be found here.

The East Side

No New Posts Hapuu Highway

The famous Hapuu Highway is the route that runs between Lani City and Hapuu Town. It winds through the north side of the island’s dense rainforests, and the beautiful scenery both within the forest and from the cliffs alongside the highway make this rout a very popular trek for tourists. Between the highway itself and the areas leading off of it, this highway has the highest Pokemon population of anywhere in the region. As would be expected from a rainforest, rain is extremely common here.

Trails leading off of the main path lead into the Deep Rainforest, although Cut is required to progress far.

A city of reasonable size on the edge of Kohola Bay. Like Lani City, it has seen some modernization in recent years, leading to the upgrade and modernization of the local power plant. Even before that, Mahiko City was the center of sugarcane production, but with production moving overseas the city is left to oversee the sugarcane fields dominating the central valley. The Electric Gym is also found here.

No New Posts Sunrise Highway

A road leading from Lani City all the way up to the summit of Mount Sunrise. Not to be confused with Victory Road, this route can be freely traveled by anyone, tourists and trainers alike. However, if you’re visiting the Pokemon League, you can only get to spectator-accessible areas from this route. Unlike most of the region’s roads, there are no Pokemon on the route itself, but there are many places to find them nearby as you make your way up the mountain.

No New Posts Victory Road

The ultimate test for trainers, a harrowing gauntlet of caves, mountain passages, and powerful Pokemon and trainers that works its way up the side of Mount Sunrise. There are three levels of caves here, each opening into a different section of the mountain: one under heavy rainfall, one in the clouds, and one above the clouds near the summit. Each section of Victory Road will need to be navigated in different ways, requiring a challenger to use all the skills they’ve developed over their journey.

NOTE: In order to access and navigate Victory Road, you need to have all eight of the Aina Region’s badges, as well as all six HMs and a full party of fully evolved Pokemon. In addition, all threads involving the exploration of Victory Road will be fully moderated. The flip side? Once completed, Victory Road can be freely used as a catching area, and contains every Pokemon native to the Aina Region.

Mauna Pukana La, known commonly as Mount Sunrise, dominates the eastern side of the region. The summit, over 10,000 feet above sea level, is home to many exotic life forms that can't be found anywhere else in the world. The Pokemon League sits at the top of the mountain, where Sunrise Highway and Victory Road meet, although that's far from the only reason to travel to the mountain summit. Tourists frequently come to the summit at dawn to watch the sunrise, although most underestimate how cold it can get up there.

From the summit, trainers with Pokemon with Fly can descend into Sunrise Crater

Remote Areas

No New Posts Deep Rainforest

Once you get far enough off the trail from the Hapuu Highway, the rainforest gets dense enough that you need to cut your way through. Back here the deep rainforest quickly swallows up any effects of human encroachment, making it a paradise for strong Pokemon. At least two fully-evolved Pokemon are required to access this area, as well as a Pokemon knowing Cut. The dense overgrowth of the area constitutes Grassy Terrain.
