Business District The business areas of Lani City are a mix of the old and the new. While major chain stores and modern business are popping up all over, many areas of the city remain true to their roots: locally-owned businesses promoting Aina-made products. They’re becoming fewer and farther between by the day, though. |

Lani Bay The bay to the north of Lani City is easy to swim and surf in, being less turbulent than the beach along the Hapuu Highway despite still being on the north shore. Pokemon rarely come up to the surface here, but they can still be found by fishing from the various piers here. An Old Rod will do here. |

Seabreeze Road Seabreeze Road runs southwest along the coastline between Lani City, Moana City, and Kahakai Resort City. Named for the strong ocean breezes that blow almost constantly along the route, Seabreeze Road has a strong ‘Route 1’ vibe to it, with lots of open space and plenty of easy to catch and train Pokemon. Moana City As one of two cities on the West Side, Moana City gets a lot of traffic from tourists and locals alike. Only small parts of the city have gone through the same sort of modernization as Lani and Kahakai, so most of it still has a traditional Aina flair. It has a large marina, a bustling shopping district, and enough to do to satisfy almost anyone passing through. The Water Gym can be found here. Sub-boards: Moana Seafront, Water Gym, Moana Pier |

Ridge Trail A rough road leading along the north side of the island, between Kahakai Resort City and Lani City. It's more difficult to travel than Seabreeze Road, and most visitors avoid it, but access to Olala Ranch and the interior of the Western Mountains makes this road appealing to some trainers. This area is often under the effects of harsh sunlight. Sub-boards: Western Mountains, Olala Ranch |

Hapuu Highway The famous Hapuu Highway is the route that runs between Lani City and Hapuu Town. It winds through the north side of the island’s dense rainforests, and the beautiful scenery both within the forest and from the cliffs alongside the highway make this rout a very popular trek for tourists. Between the highway itself and the areas leading off of it, this highway has the highest Pokemon population of anywhere in the region. As would be expected from a rainforest, rain is extremely common here.

Sunshower Path The route leading out of Hapuu Town and to Ahi Town is still heavily forested, but not as dense or as difficult to travel as the Hapuu Highway. Mahiko City A city of reasonable size on the edge of Kohola Bay. Like Lani City, it has seen some modernization in recent years, leading to the upgrade and modernization of the local power plant. Even before that, Mahiko City was the center of sugarcane production, but with production moving overseas the city is left to oversee the sugarcane fields dominating the central valley. Sunrise Highway A road leading from Lani City all the way up to the summit of Mount Sunrise. Not to be confused with Victory Road, this route can be freely traveled by anyone, tourists and trainers alike. However, if you’re visiting the Pokemon League, you can only get to spectator-accessible areas from this route. Unlike most of the region’s roads, there are no Pokemon on the route itself, but there are many places to find them nearby as you make your way up the mountain. Victory Road The ultimate test for trainers, a harrowing gauntlet of caves, mountain passages, and powerful Pokemon and trainers that works its way up the side of Mount Sunrise. There are three levels of caves here, each opening into a different section of the mountain: one under heavy rainfall, one in the clouds, and one above the clouds near the summit. Each section of Victory Road will need to be navigated in different ways, requiring a challenger to use all the skills they’ve developed over their journey.

Mount Sunrise Summit Mauna Pukana La, known commonly as Mount Sunrise, dominates the eastern side of the region. The summit, over 10,000 feet above sea level, is home to many exotic life forms that can't be found anywhere else in the world. The Pokemon League sits at the top of the mountain, where Sunrise Highway and Victory Road meet, although that's far from the only reason to travel to the mountain summit. Tourists frequently come to the summit at dawn to watch the sunrise, although most underestimate how cold it can get up there.

Deep Rainforest Once you get far enough off the trail from the Hapuu Highway, the rainforest gets dense enough that you need to cut your way through. Back here the deep rainforest quickly swallows up any effects of human encroachment, making it a paradise for strong Pokemon. At least two fully-evolved Pokemon are required to access this area, as well as a Pokemon knowing Cut. The dense overgrowth of the area constitutes Grassy Terrain. |

Cliffside Caves Following the cliffs away from the Black Sand Beach leads you to this cave system. Formed from old lava tubes and volcanic activity, they stretch deep under the island and are home to strong Pokemon attracted to the darkness and heat. Many of the caves’ dwellers have moved boulders around to block progress, making the ability to push them out of the way necessary for exploration. Just be careful not to pick up a Graveler instead. At least two fully-evolved Pokemon are required to access this area, as well as a Pokemon knowing Strength. |

Kohola Island Although snorkeling tours of the surrounding area are offered, the only way to reach Kohola Island proper is by surfing out there on a Pokemon. Although small, the crescent-shaped island plays host to a number of strong Pokemon, from Fighting types training in the remote location to others who just love the open, sunny environment. Please be respectful and do not litter. At least two fully-evolved Pokemon are required to access this area, as well as a Pokemon knowing Surf. |

Kohola Reef Kohola Reef snorkeling tours are restricted to small areas of the reef and do not allow catching Pokemon, but it’s possible to visit the entire underwater area around the island and reef by diving on a Pokemon. Deep sea dwellers occasionally drift up to rest here, and some caves in and around the island contain Pokemon you’d never expect to see underwater. At least two fully-evolved Pokemon are required to access this area, as well as a Pokemon knowing Dive. |

Sunrise Crater The steep slopes lining the caldera of Mount Sunrise make it almost impossible to get into except by air. It’s not well-traveled except by researchers studying the mountaintop climate, making it popular for hardy Pokemon that can live here. Don’t let the perpetual sunshine fool you though, it can get quite cold. At least two fully-evolved Pokemon are required to access this area, as well as a Pokemon knowing Fly. Due to the lack of cloud cover, this area is constantly under harsh sunlight. |
