General Rules
1) Read the rules, and I mean all of them. I know there's a lot of them, and it's a pain to read all of it, but they're there for reason. If you end up getting in trouble because you didn't know something was against the rules, you'll only have yourself to blame.
2) Be respectful. If your character is rude by nature, that's fine, but keep it IC. You're entitled to your opinion, but I expect you to respect everyone else's as well. And for the love of Arceus, no filling the cbox with unnecessary drama and/or pointless arguments. Take that bullshit somewhere else, 'cause I ain't got time for that.
3) Don't argue with a staff member. If they tell you to do/that you can't do something, then that's it. There will usually be a reason for it, so please don't get all bent out of shape about it. And if you feel like you need to defend yourself, then do it in a PM. Don't go on a tirade in the cbox
4) No spamming. Avoid double-posting (posting in a thread more than once in a row) as much as possible, and stay on subject.
5) Word Limits. I personally don't like them, but I also find them to be a necessary evil. Like Profile histories. Therefore, this site does have one. But, for the sake of keeping things simple, it's only 100 words. Of course, you're more than welcome to make longer posts.
6) I don't mind a little swearing, but don't go dropping F-bombs simply for the sake of dropping F-bombs. Try to keep in mind that there might be someone who is offended by such language. Same goes with sexuality. If you want your characters to do the Horizontal Boogie, then by all means. But save the explicit detail for somewhere else and fade to black in the actual thread. It probably goes without saying, but posting graphic images of any kind, either in a thread or on the c-box, will not be allowed.
7) No posting in the RP area until your profile has been approved. If your profile hasn't been moved, then it hasn't been approved. It's that simple. You're free to post in any of the OOC threads, though.
8) Characters are not allowed to carry any sort of weapon on them. Period. Like, literally, the most I'll allow is a small pocket knife, but even that will be watched closely. I've allowed weapons before, hoping that no one will be retarded about it; usually, there's eventually someone who's retarded about it, so I'm just nipping this at the bud. There's a partial exception for members of the Police; read the info on them for more details on that. Beyond that, don't test us on this one.
9) Have fun. This is meant to be a form of entertainment, so don't take it too seriously, and just have a good time.
Roleplay Rules
1) Be as realistic as possible. I know this is set in a world where animals run around breathing fire and shooting electricity from their bodies, but there should be at least some level of realism. For example, unlike the anime, a person would not be able to take a point blank Flamethrower to the face and emerge only slightly charred but otherwise fine. They would die...quite painfully, I might add. So yeah.
2) I shouldn't have to say this, but no God-modding or Powerplaying. Godmodding is when you make yourself, or in this case, your Pokemon, out to be invincible, or otherwise far more powerful than it logically should be. Powerplaying is when you make a post where you basically control someone else's character without their permission. Both of those are big no-nos.
3) This forum uses Liquid Time. This means that you're allowed to be in more than one place at once. Of course, this does not mean what <insert character name> experiences in Thread A is at the same exact time that they are experiencing something in Thread B. Generally, it will be assumed that Thread A takes place before thread B. If, for whatever reason, you want Thread B to predate Thread A, then it shouldn't be an issue so long a they don't contradict each other. Just make a note somewhere so that everyone else will be on the same page. I will tell you now that we won't be allowing you to do this just so you can start hatching an Egg, though. That still only counts for threads started after you received the egg.
Application Rules
1) Please, please, please avoid making a Mary Sue. No one is perfect, your character should have some sort of flaw. If you somehow don't know what a Mary Sue is, then click here for more details. Seriously people. Mary Sues are not welcome here.
2) This one isn't so much a rule as it is a personal request. However, I would much prefer it if we kept the ultra-dark pasts full of rape, abuse, and/or death to a minimum. It's not that I have anything against them. Hell, I've been known to make some pretty dark characters myself. Still, this is a Pokemon RP. Even if a lot of Pokemon RPs tend to be a bit darker and edgier compared to the most of the series as whole, having a teenage assassin who's out to take revenge on the person responsible for the brutal slaughter of their parents and/or little sister seems...well, stupid. Basically, what I'm saying is, I don't mind the occasional dead parent or dark secret...just try not to go overboard.
3) You may not role play a canon character from any Pokemon series. Using them as face claims is also not allowed, since this is taking place in the same universe as the main game series. And, lastly, having your character related to a canon character in any way isn't allowed. So yeah.
4) One character per account, and the user name for each account must be your character's name. If you decide you don't want a character anymore, then delete the account and make a new one.
5) Please link your character's profile in your signature after it has been accepted and moved. It makes it easier on everyone if you do so. Do the same for your PC once you have it set up.
6) Make sure you're good with the face claim you pick, because you're more or less gonna be stuck with it. That said, I know all too well how it is to make a character, then later find an FC that would've been perfect for your character. Then, and only then, will I allow you to change your FC. But you only get one retcon. After that, you're stuck with whoever you so choose carefully,
7) When you make an account, please sign up with your actual birthday, and not your characters'. Especially since we've got the whole "birthday Pokemon" thing going. It's just going to cause confusion if you don't.
8) We understand wanting to make more than one character in order to get more out of what the site has to offer, but we'd rather not have to suddenly look over a crap-ton of apps at once. So, when making another character, please wait for at least a week after your first app has been accepted before posting another one. The same applies for subsequent characters afterward. For now, there's no requirement to have x number of posts before you make another character, but if this gets out of hand, you can bet your ass I'll add one. This goes doubly for people who tend to make five or six characters, but then do nothing with them. Either way, you've been warned.
9) Please. for the love of Arceus and all that is holy, do not just rip a character from the series your FC is from and lazily change one or two things around to make them fit into the setting. I mean...seriously, not even I'm that lazy...which is kinda saying a lot, 'cause I can be pretty damn lazy when i want to be. But I digress. If you make a conscious effort to change their personality and/or background, but don't want to come up with an original name, then I'll allow it, I guess. I'll be silently judging you, but I'll allow it.
