She had never been in the old sugar cane plant before, but it was a place teeming with Electric type Pokemon and for this reason, she did want to catch one just in case if she wanted to take on the Flying gym sometime. Of course, her next gym challenge would be much harder, so she would have to train more if she wanted to get a second badge. The plant was inevitably infested with wild Pokemon, but it was open to the general public despite the wild Pokemon living there. Perhaps there was something that attracted curious visitors to this place or the plant had really scared off anyone who ever dared venture here. Either way, wild Pokemon were definitely not deterring her from catching anything useful this time. Releasing the ever so playful Cottonee outside, Espella hopped over to where the old machines were and she was curious of how they worked. Luckily the old machine did not work so that the curious Cotton Puff Pokemon wouldn't activate anything while they were searching.

The Cottonee hopped around while she tried to find something to play with and in her search, she bumped into a Trubbish. The trash Pokemon looked at her before the Cotton Puff Pokemon simply hopped behind her trainer, her demeanor suggested that she was quite afraid of the harmless Trubbish. Either way, it wouldn't do any good to have her battle the Trubbish anyway since the trash Pokemon had quietly walked away from the two. At least the can be left alone to continue their search in the old plant anyway. She would note that the Cottonee was afraid of a Poison type Pokemon like Trubbish and she should probably stay away from Poison types in the near future. She still had a chance to find something though, so it wasn't too bad.

While the Cottonee was looking at the machines with a curious look, a little Shinx had been wandering around the old plant and it just so happened that this little lynx bumped into the Cottonee. The Cotton Puff Pokemon curiously looked at the feline Pokemon before she alerted her trainer that this feline Pokemon was the one they were looking for. "Espella, let's start with Leech Seed." She ordered as the Cotton Puff Pokemon planted seeds that would sap at the feline Pokemon's health.

The lynx wasted no time as she dashed towards the Cottonee and bit down on the Cotton Puff Pokemon, causing the Cottonee to give out a painful cry, but it didn't hurt much. The seeds planted around the Shinx would sap her health and recover some of that health to the Cottonee. "Use Dazzling Gleam!" Isolde ordered as the Cottonee gave off a brilliant pink light that seemed to damage the lynx for a good amount. The feline Pokemon dashed towards the Cottonee again and bit down on her, causing the Cottonee to shut her eyes in pain. Due to the seeds, Espella's health was soon recovered back.

"Again, Dazzling Gleam!" Isolde ordered as the Cotton Puff Pokemon gave off a brilliant pink light which made the lynx mew in pain. The feline Pokemon bit down on the Cottonee which wasn't very effective to Espella at all and the leeching seeds would therefore restore more health from the Shinx again. The lynx was panting heavily as she looked over at the Cottonee, determined to fight until the end. "One more time, Dazzling Gleam." Isolde ordered as the Cottonee gave off a brilliant pink light which hurt the lynx once more and she fell to the ground in an unconscious state. Tossing an empty Pokeball at the feline Pokemon to attempt to catch her, she waited patiently while Espella hopped back to her trainer's side.
