Personality:
Maria Harper on the surface could be described as an arrogant and offputting individual. She relishes in victories where she can obtain them and is not beyond pulling tricks or using illegal means to seal the deal. Losses on the other hand put her in a foul mood prone to a harsh temper, yelling or even getting physical if someone pushes her temper to it's limit. Yet an odd thing about Maria Harper shows in how she is always smiling with half-lidded eyes, a look of amusement etched onto her face that only ever leaves during her bursts of anger. This is in conjunction with a habit of doing some childish things such as kicking her legs whenever she is sitting around or idly toying with a bauble within reach when bored. Additionally, Maria enjoys the feeling of adrenaline rush, going out to dangerous places in looking for new Pokemon. Maria Harper was born in Lani City in the Aina region. Raised by her single father after their mother walked on them, her home life was a somewhat lonely one. Having to work two jobs to make ends meet, her father was ever busy with work and because of this, the father and daughter grew emotionally distant. Most of the time Maria would just be at home in their apartment, playing video games or reading books as a way to fill the void of loneliness that only ever seemed to grow. When actually out on the streets, Maria would hang around with a bad crowd of individuals, gaining her win/lose mentality from these experiences.
Eventually Maria saw a chance to leave and find something more to life in the role of a Pokemon Trainer, claiming an offered "Starter Pokemon" and beginner's gear from the Pokemon Lab in Lani City. Perhaps fitting, the first Pokemon she began with was a Sneasel and soon to join them was a Ponyta. Ever since, she has taken to wandering about in search of something exciting or even dangerous.
