Nene is a rather tall, slender girl with lean muscle under her soft appearance and a chest that is comparatively large for her skinny form. She has silky blue hair that she sometimes wears in pigtails and a soft face with big, innocent eyes. She naturally has blue eyes but wears pink contacts with star-shaped pupils though she occasionally uses glasses for reading. Because of her love of the sea she is almost always seen in a one piece blue school swimsuit even if the situation in no way calls for it.

Personality: Nene in general is a very sweet and innocent girl though also quite a bit naïve and lacking in social skills. She can be a bit clueless and has no idea how to read the atmosphere of a room, leading to some awkward yet innocent situations but is a free spirit that won’t let anything stop her from doing what she wants. She has a large appetite and because of her upbringing and history goes berserk if she sees anyone wasting food, but will also gladly good for anyone who is hungry. Growing up in her family’s takoyaki shop, tentacles and pokemon with tentacles or similar appendages remind her of home and make her feel very nostalgic and fanatical. She will likely drop everything to nuzzle and pet any tentacle-like appendage she sees, finding it cute and enjoying the sight and texture of it. She is quite likely to blurt out any thought that crosses her mind and will try anything for her goals no matter how little sense it makes. Her brain may work in an… interesting way and she may be socially awkward but she’s good at heart and will try to help people and pokemon whenever she can. Overall she’s a quirky girl with more kindness than brains but still driven towards her dreams and with a great love of pokemon.

History: Nene grew up at the oldest of four sisters, child of two Takoyaki Shop owners in Cyllage City. The shop was a quaint but popular building on the shore and the children would help with business every day, her mother’s Medicham would help out with serving and her father’s Charmeleon would fire up the stoves to keep everything properly heated. As she grew up, Nene learned the basics of cooking all sorts of food, but especially the takoyaki and other seafoods that the shop specialized in. She found a great deal of joy in cooking and even from a young age she dreamed of graduating from her parents’ shadow and opening her own restaurant. She also grew a deep connection with the local sea life and the water pokemon would often help her gather ingredients for her various dishes. She established an especially strong connection with a school of Tentacool that hung out near the beach and would take her out to sea scavenging with them.

On one such excursion, the undercurrent of the ocean proved too strong for Nene and the Tentacool and she was dragged out to sea. Floating on a small boogie board she eventually washed up on an isolated island, stranded from the shore by who knows how far. With only what little food she brought with her on her excursion she spent three days on this barren island, not quite starving but for the first time in her life knowing what true hunger was. Luckily for her at the end of the third day her father found the island after searching the radius with his fishing boat for days after she didn’t come back. This incident it what taught her the importance and preciousness of food and strengthened her resolve to one day open her own restaurant. After a few years she realized that she’d never be able to make it on her own if she stayed in Kalos where her parents were established, so she decided to take a few pokemon with her and head out for the Aina region, looking for adventure and a way to claim her dreams.
