He wasn't expecting an active request board in Pokemon Centers. He read before that Pokemon Centers varied by region some were just the center, some bundled the center with marts, though Aina seemed like a special case in that it was partnered with the regional law enforcement. He decided to take up one of the requests, it detailed a charming story about a young lady who had fallen in love with one of the many surfers who frequented Mala City. He couldn't help himself, he was always a sucker for a great love story. There isn't a better love story than a real life one.
Apparently he would need to catch a Luvdisc through fishing. Of course, for such a romantic request she would need the Pokemon of romance itself. With his new Good Rod, finding the marine Pokemon shouldn't be a problem. He never thought he would find something that would have him utterly enthralled with the task at hand. Not only would he be seeing a new Pokemon but he would also have a hand at hopefully forming a budding romance. "Alright, I'd best get to it then." He quickly found a spot, and cast out his rod. Waiting for the Luvdisc to take the bait.

Well, someone had to take on the absurd request sooner or later. One has to wonder why she has to get someone else to do it when she's even able to provide a Love Ball for the task, but hey, you're getting paid for it so what does it matter? Unfortunately, fishing is still mostly about waiting around and not half as exciting as games would have you believe, so it must come as a pleasant surprise when something finally bites. Except it's this thing.Gender: Male Ability: Swift Swim Moves:Splash Tackle Flail

When he felt a tug on the line, Alex pulled at the rod, reeling in his catch as fast as he could, hoping that the love-bringing Luvdisc was at the end. Sadly instead was just a Magikarp. "Unfortunate." Of course Magikarp were here, it seems they populated every body of water in the world. Sadly he had no use for a Pokemon like this. Everyone knew what they evolved into: Gyarados, a Pokemon some considered to be one of the strongest around. Was training a borderline useless Pokemon like Magikarp worth it though? it was debatable.
The Pokemon must have known what he was thinking as it started to Flail around frantically until it was off of the hook. When it landed on the ground it just splashed about. Clearly this thing was going to be more trouble than it was worth. With a sigh Alex reached for his belt and sent out Jeanne. "Jeanne, Thunder Fang." he told. The Shinx walked towards the flailing Pokemon, the Magikarp knocking itself into her and doing minimal damage. The prideful pokemon taking it as an insult bit down on the Magikarp electrifying it and knocking it out. When the Pokemon stopped moving she simply nudged it back into the water. Was it necessary to fight it? Probably not but trying to focus on fishing while hearing a Magikarp flop about would be annoying. With it out of the way he attached another piece of bait and cast out once more.

You beat up the useless flopping fish for no reason except that it wasn't what you were looking for. How cruel. But enough of that, you don't have time to contemplate your actions. Not when you still have a Luvdisc to catch. This time, you have a bit more luck, in the sense that it doesn't take as long to get a bite. Oh, and it's something less useless than a Magikarp. Still not a Luvdisc though.Gender: Male Ability: Hyper Cutter Moves:Stomp Protect Crabhammer Mud Sport

There was a tug on the line once more, this one noticeably stronger than the splashing Magikarp from moments before. With a well timed counter pull, the catch was pulled out from the water. Hanging on the ling by the claw was what the Pokedex recognized as a Krabby. When its eyes settled on Alex, the Pokemon's face turned to that of a bloodthirsty glare. This Krabby definitely did not like that he was yanked from his home by a fishing trainer. Letting go of the hook, the Pokemon fell to the ground and snapped its powerful pincers at Alex.
"Going to need some assistance, Eos!" Alex called, sending out the Pokeball that carried his Ralts. "Alright Eos, use Psychic!" Alex commanded. The feeling Pokemon's eyes began to glow under its helm of green hair. Powerful supernatural energy growing in front of it. When the energy grew into a large orb, Eos sent it hurling at her opponent, almost knocking it back into the water.
The Krabby bounced back, clearly not happy about taking such a hit. It rushed at Eos, lifting itself high with the use of it's powerful arms, and came down hard with Stomp. The physical attack was a lot for the young Ralts to try and handle as physical attacks were something that Ralts were not exactly built to handle.
"Alright Eos, finish this with Psychic once more." Alex commanded. Another pulse of violet energy formed under the command of the feeling Pokemon and with the flick of a wrist, the energy was sent hurling at the Krabby, knocking it out cold and back into the water. The Pokemon were definitely befitting of their name, reminding him of an angry elder the way it brandished its claws on site. In any case, with that trial over with, Alex went back to the primary task. He attached another piece of bait to his rod and cast out for the third time. "it's gotta show up at some point." he hoped.

You rejected the crab too. Wow, cold. But hey, third time's the charm, right? So of course you cast your rod once more, and soon find yourself waiting yet again. Fortunately, you land another bite and reel it in to find what you were looking for: a useless heart-shaped fish. Unfortunately, it also looks like it could be pretty annoying. He felt a light tug from the line, weaker than the resistance the Magikarp gave. He wondered what kind of Pokémon could give such weak competition. A smaller Magikarp maybe? In any case there was only one way to find out. Reeling in his catch, he was sure it wasn't the Luvdisc he was sent for, after all they had to be an impressive Pokémon, right?
How wrong he was. He had his goal, the Luvdisc. It's heart shaped body is said to be the symbol of love, though why it's said to be so is most likely based on face value. The catch he got was rather small, it flopped around hopelessly as he took it off the hook of his rod. At least the Magikarp had some muscle to it. This Luvdisc was just. . . Well pathetic. He knows that through training even the smallest Patrat could grow strong enough to be a legend. He didn't see that hope in this Luvdisc sadly.
Fortunately all he had to do was catch the marine valentine with his client's love ball. It stung his pride that he was sent to retrieve such a disappointing Pokémon, but the sooner he got it done the better. The Luvdisc bounced away from him and into the water, possibly detecting the upcoming battle. It soon re - emerged with fire in its eyes. Poor little thing, he'd be sure to end this fast. "Alright Khroma, you're up." Alex called. The gligar shrieked upon entrance, causing her trainer to flinch and her giggle. "Oh, stop it you! Now, use Swords Dance." He ordered. The Gligar's pincers began to glow like polished swords increasing it's attack power.
The Luvdisc called the water around it. Rings of the hydrating liquid surrounding it's body with Aqua Ring. What was it honestly thinking? Alex decided not to bother with the question, it would probably have a hard time understanding him. "Alright Khroma, finish with Acrobatics." The Gligar made a mad dash, assaulting her opponent in all directions and knocking it out of the water.
Alex took out the Love Ball and tossed it at his clearly beaten opponent. Once this Luvdisc was captured he would be sure to send it in post haste and most likely go in search of a Pokémon that wasn’t as pitiable as the Luvdisc.
Battle Summary: - Gligar used Swords Dance - Luvdisc used Aqua Ring - Gligar used Acrobatics

Congratulations! You caught the useless heart fish! You're now able to go deliver it to the hopeful lady, so she can go win over her surfer crush...yeah, that's probably not actually going to work. But hey, you're only getting paid for your success, not hers. MISSION COMPLETE! You gain: 1100 credits and two Great Balls.
