Another one of Ferroseed's Payback attacks and Gawain was down for the count as he slowly drifted into unconsciousness. As she recalled the fainted Pumpkaboo back to his Pokeball, she sent out her Skiddo where the goat saw the two Pokemon standing on the opposing side. The clouds seemed to have parted again to reveal the sun blazing down on the battlefield. At this point, the Fennekin was an apparent threat to the entire Grass type team and well...the fox was trying to get its moves boosted by Sunny Day. "Maria, let's keep the weather changing. Serena, use Bulldoze on his Fennekin and Ferroseed." She ordered as the Lotad once again called upon a downpour which would blot out the sun for a while. Meanwhile, the goat stomped on the ground and created a shock wave, one which attempted to hit the opposing Fennekin and Ferroseed.
Summary: Pumpkaboo fainted. Skiddo is sent out. Lotad used Rain Dance. Skiddo use Bulldoze.
Paralysis Roll: jPjPMa901-4 If 1, Lotad is unable to move.

Sadly, the next Pokémon that I sold sent out was a Skiddoo that knew an odd attack that damaged not only all pokemon present, but the field itself. Mordio was badly hurt by the attack, having trouble keeping herself steady on the cracked field. "Mordio, hang in there!" Alex cheered. The Fennekin tried her best keeping steady but he knew another strong attack and she would be in no shape to continue. Ferroseed didn't fair as well, the attack was more than enough to finish off the already weakened Ferroseed. "You've done well Gusios, take a nice rest." Alex complimented, recalling the defeated seedling.
"I'm very surprised Isolde, even with me having superior typing you've found a way to do just as much damage as I have." Alex said. He looked over to the Lotad too paralyzed to counteract the weather. "Though now I, need to tip the scales in my favor." He added, pulling a pokeball from his belt. "Morgana, to the field." Alex said tossing the ball, revealing the prehistoric aurora Pokémon. The childish Pokemon happily pranced around the field seeing the battle as playtime as usual. He would have to teach her not to take these situations so lightly later. Though that was for another day, right now his pokemon needed him to direct them.
"Morgana use Hyper Voice. Mordio use Flame Charge on Lotad." Alex ordered. The Amaura took a deep breath before shouting out an icy Hyper Voice that boomed towards both opponents. Mordio then took the energy from the sun, engulfing her body in flames before charging towards the paralyzed Lotad. Battle Summary: Ferroseed fainted Amaura sent out Amaura used Hyper Voice (Refrigerate boosted) Fennekin used Flame (Sunlight boost)

How unfortunate. The Fennekin had tackled the paralyzed Lotad and his Amaura shouted out a Hyper Voice boosted by its unique ability causing both of her Pokemon to take the full brunt of the attacks and faint. "Good job, guys. You can rest well." She told to the both of them before returning them back inside their Pokeballs. "Tristan and Galahad, you're next." She spoke while she tossed two new Pokeballs. The tree spirit and the iron seed came out, each of them looked at their opponents. "Tristan, let's start us off with Phantom Force on his Fennekin. Galahad, use Iron Head on his Amaura." Isolde ordered as the Phantump began to disappear from the battlefield where he would be completely invisible while the iron seed slammed his spiky body onto the prehistoric aurora dinosaur. Things were not looking good for her monotype team thus far.
Summary: Lotad fainted. Skiddo fainted. Phantump sent out. Ferroseed sent out. Phantump used Phantom Force. Phantump vanished. Ferroseed used Iron Head.

Another two Pokemon then entered the field, a Ferroseed and a Phantump. The Phantump vanished in thin air, "Phantom Force." Alex noted, he would need to be careful for when it reappeared as it could potentially knock out Mordio if he wasn't careful. Thankfully because of Flame Charge, the Pokemon had gained some speed thanks to the tiny embers that adorned it's limbs. The Ferroseed on the other hand was ordered to take a more direct approach, Iron Head would be an incredibly damaging move for Amaura to take. He had to try to get the Amaura to avoid it, "Morgana! Evade the attack and counter with another Hyper Voice! Mordio use Ember on Ferroseed" Alex commanded. The Amaura tried its best to avoid the attack but couldn't react before the Ferroseed assaulted its body with a powerful Iron Head.
Alex inwardly cursed his poor timing but recalled the Amaura before she took any unnecessary damage. "Alrigh Eos, your up." he told his shoulder companion. The Ralts gracefully levitated off of her trainer's shoulder to support her comrade Fennekin. "Alright Eos, Calm Mind." The Feeling Pokemon began to glow a mystic light, raising her special defense as well as her special attack. Meanwhile Mordio took a deep breath before firing off a small burst of embers at the Ferroseed that were significantly larger than usual thanks to the powerful sun. Evasion check: Amaura 46 Speed, Ferroseed 10 Speed SLrx3qn31-10 Dodge 1 - 5, Hit 6 - 10
Battle Summary: Amaura fainted Ralts sent out Ralts used Calm Mind (+1 SpAtk, +1 SpDef) Fennekin used Ember on Ferroseed (Sunny Day Boost) 3 of 5 turns of sunlight have passed1-10

The Amaura went down, but there was no time to rest yet. Eos had joined in the fray and she used Calm Mind to boost her Special Attack and Special Defense. Meanwhile, the Fennekin fired off large embers due to Sunny Day's boost and that immensely damaged the Ferroseed as he was struggling to keep himself on a good balance. Luckily, Tristan had reappeared behind the Fennekin and struck her with a ghostly tackle. The Ralts was still very much worrying, but it shouldn't be too hard to take out due to its low defenses. Still, she had to be careful if Alex's Ralts decides to evade the attack. "Galahad, use Iron Head on his Ralts." Isolde ordered as the iron seed wasted no time and attempted to strike the Ralts with his spiky body, spinning around as he did so.
Summary: Tristan attacked with Phantom Force. Ferroseed used Iron Head.

He wasn't expecting the Ferroseed to still be able to fight, truly they were one of the most defensive capable Pokémon that he had ever come across in his small time as a trainer and what they lacked in speed they made up for in offensive ability, a fact he's noted as both an ally and now as an opponent. Because of the opposing Ferroseed and his weakened Fennekin, he was In a situation where he faced the very real possibility of defeat. An Iron Head would be more than enough to dispatch Eos and he would need to try his hardest to make sure that did not happen. "Eos, Mordio avoid the attacks. Now! Then counter with a Thunder Wave on Phantump, and another Ember on Ferroseed!" He commanded, authority showing clearly at the dire order.
This was his last shot. After this he had one more available Pokémon that would be fair game in his eyes. Sadly neither were successful I their evasion. The shy Ralts stricken with fear couldn't move from her place and took a direct hit. Mordio, possibly too tired to attack, moved too slowly to avoid the Phantom force and was also hit. Leaving Alex with his fifth and final Pokemon, "Alright Belius, come!" He ordered. "Finish Ferroseed with Zen Headbutt." Sure the water type would take some damage from the Ferroseed's barbs, but it was a minimal amount. 40 Speed v Ferroseed 10 N4LbFWYG1-10 1-5 dodge, 6-10 hit Fennekin 60 Speed v Phantump 38 1-10 1-5 dodge, 6-10 hit Summary: Slowpoke sent Zen Headbutt on Ferroseed Sunny Day 4/5 turns passed1-10·1-10

With Alex's Ralts and Fennekin down, there was the final Pokemon to contend with and that was his Slowpoke, a Water/Psychic type. And the Slowpoke charged forward before it slammed its head on the iron seed, knocking Galahad out, but his barbs seemed to have caught on the Slowpoke's skin. "You've done a good job. Now take a long rest, Galahad." She told, recalling the fainted Ferroseed into his Pokeball and it was all up to her Phantump which he seemed to be unharmed. "Use Phantom Force again, Tristan." The Phantump nodded before he vanished into thin air, rendering himself invisible for when he had to strike carefully. It was clear that there will be a winner who will emerge through this entire battle, but there was still the threat of Slowpoke dodging the attack as well and countering with one of its attacks.
Summary: Ferroseed fainted. Phantump vanished into thin air.

It all came down to this. His Slowpoke against Isolde's Phantump. Truly this had been an intense battle but it was now on the final stretch. Alex could feel the sweat beading down his face, he wasn't sure if it was the intense sunlight that was still beating down on the broken battlefield, or if it was the sheer intensity and anxiety of the battle in front of him. In any case, it was time to get this final leg of the battle over with and prove who was the better here, him or his opponent. "Time for the final rebel, alright Belius prepare for the next attack with Slack Off!" Alex commanded.
He would have a turn to prepare for the next hit, what better way to use that opportunity than to heal up the little amount of damage taken from the Ferroseed. Never would he have thought battles against his fellow trainers could be so intense, no so exhilarating! He felt more alive than he ever had maintaining a living garden, or reading a book huddled up in his room. This was what he wanted, what he dreamed of experiencing all those years ago. Would this be another addition to his addictions? It could very well be, after all it would be a healthy one to counteract his love of coffee.
Summary: Slowpoke used Slack Off Recovered to full health

At that moment, the Slowpoke had slacked off which healed his wounds from the barbs from before. Then Tristan reappeared from behind and struck at the Slowpoke with a ghostly tackle. For that moment, Tristan was now open to any attacks that the Slowpoke might use, but he would fight valiantly until the end for his trainer. He remained in his position, waiting silently for the Slowpke to strike at any given moment. To her, it was like a final battle against an opponent and the blazing sun made it not possible for the Slowpoke to use any Water-type attacks thus far. Soon, Sunny Day would end and the battlefield would no longer be under the sun's heat for a while, but she still had to watch out for Slowpoke's Slack Off.
Summary: Phantump attacked with Phantom Force.

Alex was quick to give the next order after Belius took the physical blow. Thankfully it was clear that she could take a bit more punishment. "Alright Belius, use Zen Headbutt!" Alex ordered. The lazy Pokemon yawned and tucked it's head. When the Pokemon's head started to glow a bright purple she launched herself in the direction of her opponent, hoping to deal as much damage as possible. The move also had the added benefit of having a chance to make his opponent flinch and though he wouldn't place his chips on a chance, it would be a lucky bonus and definitely shift the battle in his favor. Alex didn't notice the harsh sunlight fade away, though he did notice a slight change in temperature. Though the sunlight was now modest, he wouldn't dare to use a water type attack on a Pokemon with grass affiliation. That was just asking for a loss.

Summary: Slowpoke used Zen Headbutt 1-10·1-10

The Slowpoke made its move while it head butted the Phantump with precision and the tree spirit had a pained look before he recovered from the attack. Tristan was covered with bruises, but he was okay for the time being albeit with some bruises here and there. "Use Horn Leech on his Slowpoke." Isolde ordered and the Phantump wasted no time as he prepared to ram his horned head on the Slowpoke, determined to make a dent on the slow Pokemon. The Slowpoke would not have time to heal between turns now, so it was now or never during the battle. Noticing that the sunlight was beginning to fade, it was quite a relief that the weather would soon return to normal, but the focus would shift on the two Pokemon on each side of the battlefield. One of them would be a winner and it certainly didn't matter if she won or lost anyway.
Summary: Phantump used Horn Leech.

The super-effective attack was more than enough to finish the weakened Slowpoke. Alex sighed, placing a hand over his chest to silence his still rushing heart. He recalled his Slowpoke, the beaten Pokemon deserving of a long rest at the Pokemon Center. He made his way to Isolde, a modest smile across his face. "That was a fine show Isolde, a fine show indeed." he complimented. I have all of the faith in the world that you'll be successful in your journey as a grass specialist." Alex complimented.
The trainer reached to his belt, taking the front ball and holding it out, "I hope you'll forgive me in omitting my final Pokemon." he pressed the button to release his said Pokemon. A Luxio appeared from it, letting out a long yawn and shaking out her fur. "Isolde, this is Jeanne, the Pokemon I mentioned earlier who evolved recently." Alex said, brushing the Luxio tingling fur with his hand. Jeanne moved around for her trainer to pet the parts of her fur that she wanted. Letting out a pleased mew when he did so. "I just wanted a fair battle, and using Jeanne was too clear an advantage for that to be so." Alex explained.
"I've had a wonderful time in your company Isolde, and it's been a pleasure making your acquaintance." Alex stretched out his hand for her to shake it. "I'm sorry but my Pokemon are in desperate need of medical attention. We have a big day tomorrow don't we Jeanne?" The Luxio gave a long mewl in reply, a clear smile on her face. "I'd suggest you do the same as well Isolde, after all you and your Pokemon face a larger challenge than us." Alex noted. "Well then, have a wonderful day Isolde, I hope to meet you again some time." The trainer bid farewell, walking away to the nearest Pokemon Center. "Grass Specialist Isolde. Interesting. . ."
