It was time to relax. He could feel his body telling him that he was running on empty and he's known this for a good long while. His schedule the past few days has revolved around training his party, catching more members for his party, getting said new members used to the current members of his team. Rinse and repeat, days in a row. At this point he's begun to feel his memory of the days blurring together. Yes, it was time to take a break, a day off to do with as he pleases to clear his head. Although he wanted a break from training he couldn’t help but bring along a companion. Eos, his timid Ralts, sat upon his shoulder, kickin her small legs back and forth. It had taken some time getting her used to this, and a part of him knew she still wasn’t but the Ralts wasn’t really able to keep up with her trainer’s longer stride and with her light frame it was a lot easier to perch her on his shoulder. After a while he had almost forgotten about the feeling Pokemon, well not forgotten, more, , , natural.
It's been an awful long time since he's gone to a nice cafe, and with that thought in mind his mouth was fixated on tasting a nice cup of hot coffee. So he began to browse the Downtown district for a nice little coffee house, "I should just enjoy the walk." he told himself. It was a nice sunny day, though with a gentle breeze to cool down the open sun. The perfect weather, not too warm that his blazer constricted him but windy enough that he could comfortably wear his normal attire.
He passed by many little shops, most likely family run, with friendly faces out and about trying their best to sell their wares. Trainers walked with their Pokemon stopping every now and again to check on the various shops. While they all held some charm they weren’t exactly what the silverette was looking for. Though a bit further ahead was his goal. It was a modest establishment with seating outside. The various tables had an open umbrella over them and had the usual sugar and sugar substitute packets sitting neatly in the middle of the tables in a porcelain container.
Eager to have what he craved Alex stood in line for his coffee. The line wasn’t particularly busy as there was definitely other coffee shops around, though he would have a nice little wait. Fortunately for him, the seating was mostly free and few people stayed at the establishment after finishing their cup. “I’ll definitely have to take my time. This will be my first cup of Aina Region coffee.” He said giddy with excitement.

Right about...now was the time to relax a little and the past few days had been very busy. First, there was training to do and there was also catching more Pokemon, it was simply a very busy schedule. Isolde was free to do whatever priority was first however and it was at that very moment that she would visit downtown and see what places there could be. Mostly, there was quite a large number of people and Pokemon stopping by the various stores that downtown had to offer and of course, some coffee shops here and there. Espella the Cottonee seemed to be relaxing in her arms, cuddling in an affectionate gesture. It was nice of the cottony ball of fluff to warm up so fast, but then again every Pokemon seemed to love her for some reason.
It was then that she had set her eyes on a coffee shop and she could see some people outside, enjoying their coffee and chatting with one another. Maybe she should try Aina's coffee while she was at it and Espella seemed to notice a young gray-haired man standing in line. "I should get in line as well. It seems the line is not particularly long after all." She mused as she stood in line, waiting patiently for the not so long line to disperse.

"NEXT!" A voice boomed, calling Alex forward. "Alright boy, what do you want." A gruff, imposing man asked, though he made it sound like a command. Alex gulped and looked up at the man. He was tall, very tall, dressed in scars and muscular enough that his clothing couldn't hide his muscles. Alex was stunned, he couldn't arrange the words to speak to this frightening man. He looked at Alex like he was wasting his time. The man gave a long sigh. "Listen kid, you aren't the only one wanting some of Boz's Brew. You've got a pretty little lady waiting behind you, and the line isn't getting any shorter." Alex looked behind him, seeing exactly that. The next in line was a young lady, obviously a trainer since she was accompanied by a Cottonee and a line that seemed to get longer. The man's face grew a sly smirk. "How about I do you a little favor."
"HEY! Little lady aren't you lucky! This kid here is number 20 of the day meaning he's getting the two for one deal and there's no one else he can give it to but number 21. So all ya gotta do is take the coffee and talk to the boy here." he pointed to Alex. The man went to a whisper, "There ya go, now you got a pretty lady to talk to and I can tell you are the charmer type boy."
Alex was stunned, he could tell he was lying but Alex was in no place to call him out on it. Not that he wanted to as there was no telling what he would do if he did. "Boz. . . you are a terrible man." Alex muttered under his breath. The man must have heard him as his smirk grew into a full smile. "F-Fine. I'll do it." Alex whispered back. He gave the man the funds, not surprised that it wasn't a "deal" at all.
"There you go my boy, fixings are on the table." he informed. "ALRIGHT, NEXT!" he boomed, making Alex move out of the way. With the two 16 ounce cups of coffee in his hands Alex moved to approach the other trainer. How was he going to ask someone who's name he didn't even know, to have a cup of coffee with him? Boz was definitely an evil man.
"U-Um, I'm sorry about that. Er. . ." Come on Alex, pull yourself together! Deep breaths and, "I'm sorry, just a little confused. I see that you are a trainer as well, this is Eos." he offered the hot brew to the other trainer and pointed to his shoulder where the Ralts sat herself. When the attention was on her she hid her already hidden face with herr hands and turned away. "Sorry she's a little shy. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My names Alex W-." He was about to give his surname but wasn't about to take the chance. "Alex, just Alex. I'm sorry to impose this on you but would you like to enjoy this coffee with me? I'd love to discuss our experiences as trainers with a fellow trainer."

"Uh, but wait, sir, I haven't-" Her sentence was cut off by the muscular man shouting to the person next in line and there was no way that she could back out of this for now. It was best to talk to the gray-haired young man and get that free "two for one" deal that the young man had gotten or rather pretty much forced to take up on it. Needless to say, he was a trainer by the looks of a Ralts on his shoulder. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all. It would be a friendly little chat and drinking coffee.
After taking the hot coffee from the young man, he apologized for the confusion and after that, he introduced his Ralts named Eos. The little fairy hid her face with her hands and turned away, indicating that she was rather shy around strangers. Isolde could relate to the Ralts' shy demeanor as she did have a bit of a timid side when around new people as well. Espella also seemed to be curious of the tiny fairy, but she probably didn't want to scare her. The young man introduced himself as Alex and it was a name she hadn't seen before. "It's nice to meet you, Alex. I'm Isolde and yes, I would love to enjoy coffee with you as well as discussing experiences as a fellow trainer with you." She spoke in a friendly tone.

Alex gave a modest smile at her response, "Wonderful." he replied, receiving a gasp from his smaller companion. The Ralts seemed to have a problem with someone else's eyes, besides her trainer's of course, being on her. "Come now Eos, it shouldn't be too bad having some company right?" Alex laughed. The Ralts went back to hiding herself from the two pairs of eyes across from the duo. "I'm sorry about this, her shyness-" He felt something press itself against the back of his under shirt. He turned his head to find the Ralts had in fact stuffed its head in his jacket. He sighed, "It can get a bit extreme." He had gotten used to the various ways Eos would avoid attention, though the more he got attached to the young Feeling Pokemon, the more extreme her escapes would get. Alex was just happy he didn't drop his coffee this time.
"Well our drinks will just get cold if we continue to stand about right? Plus I need to get Eos out of there. It's getting rather cramped." With that said Alex walked over to the nearby tables. He approached one of the empty tables and pulled out a seat, gesturing for Isolde to sit. After she took her seat, Alex took off his bag and placed it on the ground then took his seat, being careful not to cause the intruding Ralts any discomfort. He reached to a pocket in his bag, pulling out his bright, yellow berry pouch. He fished into the bag and took out one Rawst Berry. The fragrance of the fruit hit Eos senses like a truck. The Feeling Pokemon popping out of Alex's jacket, sliding down his chest to sit comfortably in his lap with a pleading look. Alex handed the Pokemon her fruit, Eos wasting no time to get to eating. He then fixed up his coffee, adding three packets of sugar and some cream to the dark brew. "Oh, I'm sorry. Would your Cottonee like a berry? I have some to spare." he offered.
"Well then Isolde, I guess I will start." he informed. "I currently have seven Pokemon in my company." Alex closed his eyes, reminiscing over his first capture.. "Yes." he rustled the Ralts head, who was still too occupied with her breakfast to care. "Eos here was my first capture." Since then I've been preparing for my upcoming gym challenge. Since one of my other member recently evolved we'll be taking on the Flying Gym." he sipped his cup. "I'm not worried, they will do fine. I just hope that I can direct them well enough." he had to remind himself that he was a necessary part to their success and his own. "No, we will do fine." he corrected.
"So then, I've told you a little bit about myself. How have your travel's gone? What is your goal here in Aina?" Item Note: Rawst Berry used.

Espella seemed to note that Eos had a rather shy personality as the Ralts tried to hide her face from the duo. The Ralts had not been used to other eyes seeing her and thus, her method of hiding herself was a bit extreme. It was kind of true that Ralts were a bit shy and tend to avoid attention, but sooner or later this Ralts would probably get used to the attention by now. In any case, there was no use standing there as their drinks might get cold, so the two sat down at a nearby table.
Then Alex pulled out a Rawst berry for the Ralts to eat and the Feeling Pokemon ate it without question. When asked if her Cottonee would like a berry to eat as well, she nodded and replied. "Sure. She'll like one as well." The Cotton Puff Pokemon had an expression of happiness as she was a bit hungry at that time. Alex then told her about his own experience as a trainer, having about seven Pokemon currently and that he had been training for the upcoming gym. One of his members had recently evolved and the gym he was taking on was the Flying gym at the Lani airport.
After Alex had finished talking about himself and his own Pokemon, he asked how had her travels had been and what was her ultimate goal in Aina. "Well, for my first capture, I caught a Lotad. She's a bit useful in dealing with Fire types. Then, I had caught about eleven more Pokemon which some of them didn't fit in with my type specialty, but they are useful in some ways. Recently, I have been preparing for my upcoming gym battle with the Ground gym and thus, my goal in Aina is to become a Grass type specialist. For this reason, I had a full team of entirely all Grass types, but some of them are dual types as well." She told and sipped her cup afterwards.
"I hope we would do well in that regard. Gym leaders are known to be tough." She added as the Cottonee seemed to mind her own business with staring at all the people that were chatting with each other.

Alex happily fished into his berry pouch and pulled out a Persim Berry. "I hope she enjoys this." he told as he handed Isolde the bright pink berry. Alex listened intently to his fellow trainer's tale as he enjoyed his coffee. He had to admit Boz's Brew was one of the better cups he's had. He tried his best to savor each sip but his minor dependence on the morning beverage had him rush the fragrant brew with frequent sips. After all it had been an awfully long time since he's gotten to taste the addictive beverage. Just the fact alone that he was able to enjoy it during a gorgeous day and with good company left a pleasant smile on his face and cleared him of his many worries.
"That's wonderful Isolde, from our short little chat I'm sure you will make a fine specialist." It was a different goal, something he would never have expected from a trainer. After all specializing in one type left one open to many counter strategies did it not? Isn't that why gym leaders did so? To give challenging trainers an easier time countering their teams? Well, it could also be their personal preference now that he began thinking about it. Though it had to take an awful lot of work in countering the various flaws of such a strategy.
"Well then, I wish you the best of luck Isolde, it's been a pleasure." he smiled to the grass specialist as he gathered his things and made his way to leave. Something made him stop in his tracks, here he was, face to face with another trainer who he knew was already taking a difficult approach to training her Pokemon and seemed to be doing rather well even facing that challenge and he was about to leave? No, no his curiosity not only as a competitor in the Pokemon League challenge but as a trainer as well wouldn't allow that. No, he needed first hand experience as always. "Actually, Isolde this may be rude of me, but I challenge you to a Pokemon battle. We'll do a double battle, I wish to see the cooperation between your Pokemon in action." he told. He knew he had come to this modest coffee shop to take a break from being a trainer, but listening to Isolde's goals and story ignited the same fire that made him come to Aina in the first place.

She took the Persim berry from Alex and let her Cottonee eat it. Espella began to chew on the berry in little bites and she happily ate her breakfast. It was really nice of Alex to wish her the best of luck on the gym challenge and she was sure to win. It was most likely that using a different approach than most trainers who would use different types to exploit weaknesses was a bit difficult. Not only did gym leaders actually use the same type like her, they had coverage to deal with other weaknesses and it was what she followed mostly. She had distinctly remembered that back in Hoenn, trainers had a hard time battling some of the gyms because mostly, the gym leaders were quite tough and had type coverage.
For a moment, it seemed like Alex was about to leave until he had challenged her to a double battle. She had never battled before, much less had any double battles of any sort, but she did see that the Mossdeep gym leaders had battled trainers before in a double battle. "I accept your challenge, Alex. If you wish to see how my Pokemon cooperate in battle, so be it." She replied to Alex's challenge. A battle against a fellow trainer wasn't a bad idea after all.

Alex was excited, his first real trainer battle would be happening before his gym challenge! Sure it was a spur of the moment challenge and he wasn't the best prepared but it was a first, something he could learn from to better prepare for his upcoming challenge. "Then the Pokemon Center is the best place for this, I saw some free battlefields on my way here." Alex hardly spoke as he lead the way to the battlefield, trying his best to calm his nerves for the upcoming trial. When they arrived, Alex took his place on one side of the battlefield. "Well then, I'll send out first as the challenger." Alex reached to his belt, he knew two ideal Pokemon that were more than a match for Isolde's mono-type team, though where was the fun in that? Also, she had not said anything of her evolving a Pokemon either so using Jeanne wouldn't be fair either. He nodded, he knew exactly who to use. "Alright Gusios, Mordio! To the field." Alex announced as he tossed the two pokeballs." One revealed the stoic Ferroseed, Gusios, while the other sent out his fiery Fennekin, Mordio. "Alright Isolde, the first move belongs to you." Alex ended, awaiting the other trainers Pokemon.

Sent out Ferroseed and Fennekin

Once they were at the battlefield, Alex had sent out two Pokemon, a Ferroseed and a Fennekin. Those two were quite the challenge to deal with, but she did have a strategy for them at least. "Maria and Gawain, you're up as well!" She announced as she tossed two Pokeballs which sent out the Lotad and the Pumpkaboo. While Ferroseed was known for its high defense, that Fennekin was going to be difficult with its Fire type attacks right off the bat. "Maria, let's start us off with Rain Dance! Gawain, use Trick-or-Treat on that Ferroseed!" She commanded as the Lotad summoned a rainstorm and Gawain went trick-or-treating with the Iron Barbs Pokemon, adding another type to the Pokemon's dual typing of Steel/Grass.
Well at least they could go on the defensive for now. There was no telling whether Alex would counter that strategy however.
Summary: Lotad was sent out. Pumpkaboo was sent out. Lotad used Rain Dance. The rain started to pour! Pumpkaboo used Trick-or-Treat. Ghost type was added to Ferroseed.

Alex didn't mind the sudden downpour of rain from the clouds that formed over the battlefield. After all the weather wouldn't stay that way, not while he had a say in it. What he was more worried about was the second move that Isolde had her extra-large Pumpkaboo employ. "Trick-Or-Treat" it was called, the move had put a dark silhouette over Gusios, adding a ghost type to his already dual typing. He would have to be careful of the next move, but if Isolde wished to play the debilitating game then he would follow in kind. "Alright Gusios use Thunder Wave on Lotad. Mordio, we can't have this weather, use Sunny Day." Alex ordered. His Pokemon were quick to follow their orders, the Ferroseed shot a paralyzing bolt of electricity the opposing Lotad's way, while Mordio changed the already unnatural weather to an unnaturally bright sun that parted the rain clouds. Sumary: Ferroseed used Thunder Wave on Lotad Fennekin used Sunny Day

Unfortunately, the downpour wouldn't stay long as Alex ordered his Fennekin to use Sunny Day as the clouds parted to reveal the unnatural blazing sun. The next debilitation came from Ferroseed which shot a paralyzing wave on Maria, the electricity seemed to restrict her movements a bit. Even so, it was not going to stop her from trying to eliminate the opponent or at least put on the rain again until then. "Maria, if you're able to, put on another Rain Dance! Gawain, let's get on the offensive and use Shadow Ball on that Ferroseed!" She ordered as the Lotad attempted to call upon another downpour of rain upon the battlefield. The gourd Pokemon began to form a shadowy blob of darkness and shot it at the Ferroseed, determined to work together with his partner. The two Pokemon were probably going to learn how to work together in that regard anyway, but they did make a good team.
Summary: Lotad used Rain Dance. Gawain used Shadow Ball.

Alex smiled at the progression of the battle, so far things went just as he'd thought. This wasn't an entirely good thing, nor was it a bad thing. It kept the tide of the battle in a neutral position, which is all he could ask for until his ipening arrived. Sadly, this meant that Mordio would be left playing Mother Nature tug-of-war with the opposing Lotad, though that did not mean he couldn't do any damage to his opponent. With the Shadow Ball that did quite a bit of damage to Gusios, this let him use an empowered form o one of his attacks. "Alright Gusios, use Payback on her Pumpkaboo." Alex commanded. "Mordio, we need that weather to keep changing, Sunny Day once again!" Alex followed. Gusios fell to its side, before spinning like a wheel while dark energy enveloped its body. With a charge it attempted to ram into the opposing Pumpkaboo with an empowered Payback. Mordio kept up the rear, changing the weather once more to keep the advantage away from the mixed grass type Pokemon. Summary: Ferroseed used Payback (100 BP) Fennekin used Sunny Day

The gourd Pokemon was hit by Ferroseed's Payback and he was in immense pain. Meanwhile, the Fennekin had put on a Sunny Day again where the clouds parted once again to reveal the blazing sun. In that case, the opposing Fennekin and her Lotad would have to play tug of war with Mother Nature while the other side would attack or if paralysis hits, the Fennekin might have an advantage. Either way, she wasn't about to let Fennekin use its boosted moves on her Grass type Pokemon just yet. "Maria, let's change back the weather with a Rain Dance! Gawain, use Shadow Ball on his Ferroseed!" The Lotad called upon another downpour on the battlefield which made the clouds cover the blazing sun again and the gourd Pokemon formed another shadowy blob and shot it at the Ferroseed. At this rate, Gawain might be knocked out by the next Pokemon that Alex sent out.
Summary: Lotad used Rain Dance. Pumpkaboo used Shadow Ball.
Paralysis Roll: EcKoiVOx1-4 If 1, Lotad is unable to move.1-4

Once more Shadow Ball hit it's mark, this time making the iron seed start to wobble and almost lose his balance. The Pokémon was definitely known for his defensive ability, but because of his new ghost affiliation he wasn't going to be able to take much more. He needed to dispatch the problem quickly, though he needed to be careful with of the Loyd as well. "Alright Gusios, use Payback once more on Pumpkaboo." Alex ordered. The Ferroseed once again performed an empowered Payback attack on the super sized Pumpkaboo. "Mordio, you know what to do." The Fennekin gave an approving nod, calling for the sun to come out with powerful rays. He needed to be careful of the next move. He was already in check, he just couldn't show it. He couldn’t give in. Summary: Ferroseed used Payback (100 BP) Fennekin used Sunny Day
