Dylan's Team
After a couple of hours traveling through the dense rainforest and what seemed to have been a trail of endless plains, Dylan soon founded himself stumbling into Ahi Town. Surprisingly, the massive town was not overly populated as he expected that it would be. In fact, there appeared to have been more tourist roaming around the town than actual citizens. Needless to say, the town still felt quite welcoming and alluring. Dylan would spend about twenty minutes exploring the starting point of the town first before finding a small, cozy little restaurant to grab a bite to eat. Once he finished a satisfying portion of a double bacon cheeseburger, french fries and a famous spicy dessert then he would make his way towards the Pokemon Center. He greeted the cute and sweet Nurse Joy with a charming smile before handing his Pokemon over for her to perform a small check up on each of them. He wanted to make sure that everyone was in tip top form in case he found him having to up go against a challenging trainer or Wild Pokemon.
While waiting for Nurse Joy to finish the check up, Dylan would roam around the Pokemon Center and spark up a small conversation with a couple of visiting trainers. Apparently, there is a Gym located deep within the town that trainers can challenge to test their ability as a trainer and if the trainer manages to defeat the Gym Leader then he or she will be reward a badge. It seem pretty cool and worth checking out. Dylan though to himself, and according at the random trainers the Gym Leader is rather easy on the eyes and also a tough competitor. Dylan asked the trainers for the directions of the Gym and quickly jolted them down into his small notebook before saying his goodbye to the trainers and walking back over to Nurse Joy to pick up his Pokemon. Thankfully, his entire team appears to be healthy.
Upon following the directions written down in his notebook, Dylan soon found himself wondering through Ahi Lava Tube. The cave made out of volcanic rock was quite intriguing and it even gave an interesting flare to peaceful town. Unfortunately, the cave itself was little deeper than Dylan imagined that it would be. It took the blue-haired trainer about twenty minutes to make his way through the cave. Luckily, he did not run into any annoying Wild Pokemon or trainers that would have slowed his down even more. Once outside of the cave, he would walk for about ten more minutes before finding himself standing in front of the mighty gym. Taking in a deep breath, he would push open the glass doors and enter the steamy Gym with confident. Within the thick steam, Dylan noticed a silhouette of what appeared to have been a human being. Focusing his eyes a little more onto the target. He soon identified an older man with thick glasses wearing a white dress shirt, a classic red bow tie and a pair of khaki dress pants. The strange man quickly greeted the young trainer with a welcoming smile before introducing himself as the Gym Guide. He explained to Dylan that the Gym Leader, Akari, is a user of Fire Type Pokemon and in order to challenge her he would first have to make his way through the hot springs and defeated a few gym trainers along the way. Dylan smirked and nodded before walking away and vanishing into the thick cloud of white steam.
The intense heat coming from the hot springs was a bit overwhelming at first. However, after wondering through the hot springs for a few seconds the heat become quite bearable. In perfect timing, too. Right as his body started to adjust to the heat, he found himself encountering a Gym trainer with a Slugma. He did not waste anytime releasing his Froakie from his Pokeball and commanding it to use a Water Pulse. Within about thirty seconds, the battle was over with just like that without Morris not taking an damage. “Ha. So far so good!” He grinned, glancing over at Morris, who was know hanging from his right shoulder. The duo would take down a couple of more trainers while maneuvering through the hot springs before finally making their way towards the Gym Leader. Man, she truly was easy on the eyes. Shaking his head, Dylan would clear his throat and greet the Gym Leader. “Hello Miss. My name is Dylan Reed, and I am here to challenge you to a Gym battle.” He smiled, giving her a small bow while making eye contact with her. Oddly enough, he did not appear to be extremely nervous about standing in front of the Gym Leader and asking her to battle him. In fact, he appeared pretty damn confident and eager to get this battle started right now. Perhaps, it was a small front or maybe he just felt that confident in his ability as a trainer and the handwork that he put so much work into along with his Pokemon. Hopefully, his confident wouldn’t get the best of him.

As you approached the gym leader steady clapping could be heard. "Well done, well done! It's always fun to watch some battling. You did very well, though now it's time for you to face me." Steam from the surrounding hot spring waters parted in an instant revealing a woman clad in a black and red dress resembling a kimono. The attire definitely showed off her curves. The geisha listened to your challenge wearing a small smirk. She reached behind her , taking two pokeballs from an opening in her dress. "Very well. I am Akari, the fire type gym leader of the Aina Region. Let's try to get this done quickly, okay? I planned on taking a long bath you know?" The two of you took your places on the battlefield while she explained the rules of the battle. "Since this is your first challenge we'll be going three on three, understood?" When you were situated she wasted no time to call her Pokemon. "Let's get started then! Chimchar, Go!"
Music: Unova Gym Battle (remastered)
Gym Challenge: Vs Akari
Opponent 1: Chimchar Gender: Female Ability: Blaze The chimp Pokemon gave a mock yawn when it spotted you. "She doesn't think highly of you. If this battle doesn't impress me I don't think I will either." She smiled. "The first move belongs to you my dear." The woman was definitely eager to start.

A small smirk crossed against Dylan's soft lips, once hearing the Gym Leader compliment on his battling skills. 'Okay Dylan. Be level-headed. Do not let her compliment get to your head.' He told himself. He knew that being overly confident could possibly result to him losing this battle. 'And don't get too distracted by her appearance.' He added, shaking his head as his roaming eyes explored her womanly curves for a few seconds. Luckily, he managed to snap out of his little daze upon hearing her introduce. "Yes. I understood. I would also like to get this battle over and done with, too. I'm looking forward to relaxing in the hot springs myself." He added with a light chuckle. "Three on three. Sounds good." He replied, nodding his head to let her know that he understood her words. He would then watched as he released her first Pokemon. "A Chimchar. That's a pretty cool Pokemon you have there." He smirked, taking a few seconds to admire the rare fire type. He would then glance over at the Froakie hanging from his right shoulder. "Okay Froakie, let's start this battle off the right way!" He stated as the smirk on his face grew even more. Within seconds, the Froakie leaped off his trainer's shoulder and took his position on the battlefield.

An irritated frown slowly crept over Dylan's fair face after hearing Akai mention that her Pokemon didn't think to highly over him. Well, that was damn right disrespectful in his book. "There you two give us no choice, but to prove you wrong." He chucked, not allowing himself to think too much into her previous comment any longer. "Toxic Spikes!" A dark violet light swiftly engulfed Morris' blue body, changing his typing from Water to Poison. Opening his mouth widely, the Froakie would then spit out an array of poison spikes on the opponent's side of the floor. Those dangerous spikes would poison any other Pokemon that she decides to switch into battle. Meanwhile, Dylan would wait for his opponent to make the next move. He was quite curiously to see what type of moves this Chimchar has to counter his Water type moves.
Dylan sent out Froakie. Froakie changed it's typing from Water to Poison. Froakie used Toxic Spikes.

Akari smiled as she watched the frog lay the many poisonous spikes on the ground. "Entry hazards. Always a pain." She faked a sigh. "Seems you've got a little strategy, hmm? Well, just make sure to stay on your guard. We wouldn't want any burns, yes?" she said. It almost seemed like she was trying to warn you of something. "Chimchar, go ahead and Flame Charge!" the fiery spring maiden ordered. Her Chimchar engulfed itself in flames, charging in while building up speed. When the attack finished traces of the flames were still on the Chimchar's body and it seemed to move a bit faster than before.

Dylan listened to Akai's words in a careful manner. He knew that after finding out that the Gym Leader used Fire type Pokemon that it would be a chance that his Pokemon could possible get a burn, and what was expected when it comes down to playing with fire. "Don't worry. I made sure to pick my Pokemon team carefully, just for this battle." He smirked at her. He didn't know if she was trying to trick him into not attacking her Pokemon, or if she was genuinely trying to warn him about an upcoming status effect. Don't over think it too much, Dylan. He told himself, trying not to allow himself to sweat from overthinking things. Meanwhile, he took the incoming Flame Charge. Luckily, the attack only caused minor damage and didn't resort in a burn. "Morris, use Substitute!" He commanded, keeping his eyes glued on the battlefield. He figured that he would have been start to take the Gym Leader's warning. Even if she managed to trick him into staying on the defensive side, then it would at least allow him to see more the Chimchar's move set. Morris scarified a bit of his health in order to create a small decoy to block any damaging and status effecting attacks. Hopefully, If everything plays out, then the duo will plan to attack next turn.

Opponent 1: Chimchar Gender: Female Ability: Blaze Status: Okay Speed +2 The gym leader crossed her arms in clear disappointment, letting out a scoff. "I've always hated that tactic. Hiding away, biding your time. I'm more of an up-front girl, so excuse me because I'm going to have to get rid of that little toy." she teased. "Alright Chimchar, break down that fake with a Flame Charge!" the trainer ordered. Once again the Chimchar crouched to all fours as flames engulfed it's small body. With a charge the Chimchar rammed itself into the Substitute. When the attack concluded more flames adorned it's body increasing it's speed once more. 1-10W2ayBvvM

Dylan's last tactic was a rather risky one, and he still had mixed feelings about sacrificing quite a bit of health to create a substitute. Honestly, he just hoped that the substitute would bide him enough time to turn the battle around for them. It did make him feel a little bit better when he heard the Gym Leader compliment him on his tactics. "Don't worry, we're hoping to bring an end to this battle soon enough." He smiled, watching as the massive substitute absorbed the hit from the Flame Charge and sent the small fire type back over to her trainer's side of the field. "Water Pulse!" Within seconds, Morris would hop from behind the substitute with a deep blue glow engulfing his body as he transformed into his original type. He would focus his powers into creating a decent sized orb of shimmering water to attack his foe. Once the orb grew even more in size in power, he would then shoot the stunning orbs towards his foe in a swift manner before bursting into a pulsing blast of water.

Opponent 1: Chimchar Gender: Female Ability: Blaze (Activated) Status: Danger Zone Confused Speed +2 Water Pulse definitely hit it's mark. The orb of water landing straight on the Chimchar's small body, dowsing it in water and kncking it away. "Oh my, that one was a strong one. Chimchar are you alright?" The leader asked worried. The Cimchar slowly stood to it's feet wobbling in place, confused from the previous attack. The flame on its tail grew larger, a sign that it's ability Blaze was now activated. "Think clearly Chimchar!" The trainer shouted, trying to get thorough to the dazed Pokemon. "We need to get that substitute down! Flame Charge once more!" Sadly the Chimchar attacked itself, knocking it out cold. The trainer sighed, recalling her defeated Pokemon. "Nicely done, I guess you are going to be a bit of a challenge after all, Slugma your turn!" she wasted no time in calling out her second Pokemon. "Now Slugma, Clear Smog!" A pleasing smirk gently curves against Dylan's lips as he witness the Chimchar attack herself and soon become the fault of her own downfall. "Nice way to turn things around, Morris. Let's keep up the good work!" He complimented his Pokemon for overcoming his first challenge. The blue-haired trainer was truly impressed by his Pokemon's pure determination to turn the battle back around into their favor. "Thanks, but I know the true challenge is just know about to kick in." He replied, nodding his head a bit at the Gym. His keen azure eyes watching as her second Pokemon materialize right in front of him, and within seconds the poisonous spikes from Morris' Toxic Spike attack would work their way into the Fire type's skin. A Slugma. He thought to himself, wondering what type of moves this new Pokemon may have to turn the battle back around into their favor. Luckily, the Slugma was another pure fire type. The Slugma did not waste anytime firing her first attack at the already weakened Froakie. Luckily for the Froakie, his Substitute still had enough energy left to absorb the incoming attack. However, after taking the decent hit of damage from the Clear Smog, the decoy would materialize into tiny specks of blue substances. The duo would have be extremely careful now. "Water Pulse!" Within the blink of an eye, Morris would leap into the air and release another powerful orb of water into the direction of his foe, hoping to deal a great amount of damage to her body.

Once again the watery blob landed a direct hit on the lava with eyes. The Pokemon, having alread taken some damage from the Poison prior, couldn't stand the hit and fell over unconscious. "You did well in turning this around." the gym leader applauded. "But now it is time for my final Pokemon, and though it isn't looking good for me, don't expect an easy victory." the trainer warned. "Alright Fletchinder, your turn!" she shouted with a throw of her final pokeball. Emerging from the machine was the gym leader's last pokemon. The devolved form of her signature Pokemon, Fletchinder. The Pokemon emerged already in flight, avoiding the poisonous spikes that littered the field. "Are you ready for round three?" the hot springs owner taunted. "Alright Fletchinder, use Steel Wing!" The flying-type Pokemon's wings turned a metallic color and the bird quickly zoomed towards your Froakie. Opponent 3: Fletchinder Gender: Female Ability: Flame Body Status: Okay

A massive grin curved against Dylan's lips as he watched the Water Pulse collide into Slugma's body and taking her down in one shot. Of course, the effects of the poisonous spikes assisted with bring down the Fire-type in one shot. Unfortunately, Dylan's huge grin quickly started to fade away upon seeing the Gym Leader release her last Pokemon. A Fletchinder, the second evolution stage of Fletchling. It would probably be a bit of challenge to take down an evolved Pokemon with a basic level Pokemon, but at least it wasn't a fully involved Pokemon. Biting down on his bottom lip, his keen azure eyes would watch as the Fletchinder jetted towards his Froakie with her wings glowing a metallic hue. "Morris, you have to dodge that Steel Wing!" He shouted, glancing over at his Froakie. It was quite evidence that the small frog Pokemon was already feeling a little battered, due to his heavy panting and small scars from the previous two battles. Morris made an attempt to leap into the air to dodge the incoming attack, but instead of actually dodging the attack the Froakie's body ended up meeting the glowing wings of his foe. Morris let out a low cry as his body twirled in the air a couple of times before crashing down onto the heavy ground. "Morris. You've done a great job. I couldn't have turned this battle around without you." He stated with a soft smile before returning the Froakie back to his Poke Ball. He definitely deserved a pleasant rest. "It may prove to be a challenge to take down an evolved Pokemon, but I'm confident that my Pokemon will prevail. I would hate for my Froakie's hard work to go into vain." He replied, snatching another Poke Ball from his waist and releasing his second Pokemon. There a petite Horsea stood in front of him, eyeing the Fletchinder as she awaited orders from her trainer. "Narissa, use Rain Dance!" The sea dragon Pokemon quickly performed an elegant and mystical dance to summon a heavy rain that would pour down for five turns, power up her Water-type moves and decrease Fire-type moves.

The woman huffed in annoyance. "I always hated the rain." she complained. "A little cold water won't be enough to stop my Fletchinder though! Fletchinder, use Aerial Ace!" she commanded. Zooming on your Horsea at a blinding speed, the Fletchinder flew passed your Pokemon to assault it with a heavy pecking from behind to guarantee that the attack would be unavoidable. With this being Akari's last Pokemon she was more than worried about what this Horsea's next attack would be. Opponent 3: Fletchinder Gender: Female Ability: Flame Body Status: Okay

Dylan smirked at Akari's little comment about cold water not being enough to take out her Fletchinder. "Well, it's a good thing that my Horsea doesn't only have moves that use cold water." He chuckled before his deep blue eyes started to widen as he watched the Fletchinder rush towards his Horsea with her powerful beak. The Aerial Ace managed to cause quite a bit of damage to the Horsea's petite body. Luckily, Narissa was able to regain her composure without too much of an issue. "Good job Narissa. It's going to take more than an Aerial Ace to knock us out of the game." He smirked, staring towards the Gym Leader. "Narissa, use Scald!" The swift little Horsea would cock her snout back and quickly het forth a powerful blast of boiling hot water directly at the Fletchinder. Dylan hoped that the Super Effective attack would be enough to knock their foe out in one hit, seeing that the move was also powered up by the effects of the rain drizzling on the field.

The empowered Scald was more than enough to finish the fire bird off in one powerful stream of hot water. "Whew, we got a strong one. Congratulations on your first gym beaten." The gym leader applauded approaching you. She took a badge from her dress "This is the Ahi gym Fire Badge, it's yours now." She pulled a cd out as well, you have to wonder where she holds these items sometimes. "This is my favorite move, Flame Charge. It's a nice tackle that boosts the user's speed. Handy when you need to try to avoid those pesky water attacks." She explained. "Now excuse me, I have a date with the hot springs." Lava Badge Get! Earned 500 credits and TM Flame Charge!

A huge grin quickly spread across Dylan's face as he watched the Fletchinder fall down from the air in defeat. He could feel his body swiftly starting to grow overjoyed from winning his first Aina's Gym badge. Keep it together Dylan. Cool, Calm, and Collect. At least until you made it outside of the gym. He told himself before slowly walking over into the direction of the gorgeous Gym Leader, his petite Horsea floating right behind him as the two of them accepted the Gym Badge together. "Thank you. It was a challenging battle and I learned a lot from this battle with you. I will continue to grow stronger as a trainer and hopefully collect of the Aina's Gym badges and enter the Pokemon League." He smirked, looking up at the Gym Leader and then down at his new, shiny badge. He would then reach out to grab the CD containing the TM Flame Charge, a soft blush touching his cheeks as he watched the lady retrieve the item from her dress. With a simple nod and one last smile, he would wave goodbye to the leader and make his way back outside. Luckily for him, there was a shortcut waiting for him behind the spot where the Gym Leader was once standing. Once outside, he would let his excitement go, jumping up and down and shouting to the top of his lungs that he had won his first Gym badge. "Thank you, Narissa. I could haven't done this with Morris and you." He smiled, reaching out to give his Horsea a gentle hug before returning her back into her Poke Ball. He would then take his way towards the Pokemon Center to heal up his Pokemon. Later on that day, he would also visit the Hot Springs with his Pokemon in order to help them all relax from a stressful Gym battle.
