An excavation kit seemed like an odd choice for an investment at first.  Karin knew of a few prehistoric Pokemon that left frequently discovered fossils behind, but most of them weren't anything she'd use.  It was the other stuff she was interested in.  Rare treasures, mystical artifacts, mysteriously preserved candy...she was pretty sure the guy who mentioned the last one was joking, but it wouldn't hurt to look at least.  So she'd spent a decent bit of money on one, and headed deep into the caves connected to Ahi Lava Tube to check them out.  She also brought her Heracross, Beetalion, with her, equipped with rock smash to help with the excavation. She could only hope that it would be worth the investment.
