Well, as it turned out, getting Pokemon to approach her wasn't a problem at all. Karin had already run into one which, after a very bizarre display that she'd have to address during training, she had caught. Now that the Golett was safely transferred to the PC, she started to walk out onto the precarious, rocky flats at the bottom of the cliff. She cradled her bag under one arm to protect the egg inside, while Shiranui floated next to her, providing her warmth.
...To the egg. Not to Karin. Karin was in range of said warmth, but she was grateful that there was also wind blowing in her face. Campfires were all well and good, but not in the middle of a hot day.

Oh. Whoops. That wasn't a rock. Well, it was a rock, but it was rock with arms. And a face. And a bad attitude. Karin immediately backed away after nearly tripping over the Geodude, to see it putting up its fists and acting generally threatening...or at least, as threatening as a rock could be when she had an ice youkai, a tree spirit, and an indestructible mirror on her side. Still, Karin decided to be accommodating. She wasn't hurt, the Geodude didn't seem hurt, and...quick check...nope, the egg wasn't hurt either. So everything was good. "Okay, okay, I'll back off," Karin said, taking a few more steps away, then turning and taking a different path across the rocks.
