After a bit of exploring in Kahakai, Akira was off to the next town, curious as to what it had to offer. Deciding to just take the long way, she began walking down the road, keeping up a quick but steady pace. She had heard that wild Pokemon can sometimes be found along the roads here in Aina, so she also figured that maybe she'll get lucky and find one along the way. A Flying-type might be nice, now that she thought about it. Just as long as it wasn't a Spearow; just the thought about running into one in the wild was more than enough to make her cringe.

Either way, she continued along the road, keeping an eye out for any Pokemon that looked like they'd be worth adding to her team. Hopefully, her search wouldn't take too long.

As Akira walked through, she noticed a small puppy-like Pokemon sleeping in a patch of grass just off of the main road. Having never seen it before, she took out her PokeDex and scanned it. "Hm...Lillipup, eh? I see...I guess it's kinda cute...but I think I'll pass. Besides, it looks kinda peaceful just sleeping like that." With a nod, she put her Pokedex away. Maybe she'd catch it some other time. For now, she was hoping to find a Flying-type Pokemon to add to her team. Thus, she chose not to bother the sleeping Pokemon, and simply continued along her way.

Nidoran♂ Poison Point Male No Item Poison Jab, Toxic Spikes, Horn Attack, Peck

Soon enough, she came face-to-face with a male Nidoran, which caused Akira to grin a bit. She had always been a fan of the Nidoran lines in general, so, while it wasn't what she was looking for when she came out here, there was no way she was passing up this chance. After a bit of debating, she nodded quietly as she decided which Pokemon to use. Grabbing a Poke Ball from her belt, she released her Aron from inside of it. With a nod, she called out to her Pokemon "Elwin! Attack it with a Metal Claw!"

The Aron nodded, brandishing razor-sharp claws and running toward the Nidoran. Once close enough, she swiped at him with the claws, raking him across the face with it. As she made contact, one of the barbs on the Nidoran's body released a small amount of venon...but, due to the Aron's Steel typing, it had zero effect on her. Akira couldn't help but grin. She definitely made the right choice in picking Elwin for this particular battle. Nothing screws a Poison-type over quite like an opponent that can't be poisoned.

Regardless, the Nidoran retaliated with a quick jab of his horn, though the Aron just sat there and took the hit, not even flinching. It did inflict damage, but it was so negligible that the Aron barely registered that he was under attack at all. Akira almost felt bad for the Nidoran; almost. Instead, she called out to the Aron once again. "Give him another Metal Claw!" The Aron followed the command, lashing out at the Nidoran once again with his claws. The Nidoran was now struggling to stay standing.

Refusing to go down without a fight, the Poison-type attacked once more by jabbing with his horn, which once again inflicted barely-noticeable damage. Akira nodded, silently applauding the Nidoran's fighting spirit, and called out. "One more Metal Claw! Let's finish this!" The Aron nodded, and slashed at the Nidoran one last time. No longer having the strength to continue, the Nidoran collapsed. Wasting no time, Akira grabbed an empty Poke Ball and tossed it at the fallen Pokemon.
