After that excursion, she decided to relax a bit at the business district where there probably hundreds of chain stores that she can shop at of course. Tristan seemed to tag along with her, considering that he loved to be outside whenever there was a good day out. To her though, the little forest spirit seemed to have child-like curiosity about most things that humans seemed to know. Well, it was according to the Pokedex that Phantump was once a child, well...a child that died in a forest anyway. She didn't mind that at all, in fact she treated it like it was her own child. Either way, it was kind of strange to even treat Tristan like a little child, but he really had taken to following her around like a child and his mother.
They entered a clothing store where most of the people there, women included were shopping. She wasn't really buying anything, but just in case if she did, she would look around for something of interest. The little forest ghost did have a desire to see if the clothes would fit him much to her amusement.

It was close to midday, possibly a little after. The business district of Lani City was as busy as it always seemed to be, teeming with people from all ages enjoying the wide variety of goods offered by the shops in the district. While it wasn't a place that Elise actively avoided, it was somewhere that she often tried to avoid spending too much time in. It was a habit that she had formed as a student, always on the run to her next lesson or activity. The crowds, while hardly loud, unruly or otherwise annoying, didn't help much either. Yet, there were times that she wouldn't be able to avoid it, especially now that she was a trainer. There would be plenty of times that she would need to visit the district to buy supplies, items or even to just scratch the occasional itch to go shopping.
Today, Elise had come for a few things. After her training with Gaius and Muzét in the city's training grounds, she had decided to purchase some supplies for herself and help her Pokémon learn a few new moves as well. The first half went smoothly. The trainer had been able to enter the item and trainer shops, purchase her items and leave within a handful of minutes each. However, she had one last errand to run before she was finished. The night before, Gaius had taken a tumble while rough housing with Zagi. Unfortunately for her, its bladed arm had caught her jacket as it fell, tearing a large hole straight through the back.
And so Elise found herself in one of the few stores that would repair her jacket. She had dropped it off earlier that morning, but when she returned after her shopping, she had been informed that they had only just begun work on it. They gave the young woman an estimated completion time of ten to twenty minutes before politely hinting that she would have to wait while they dealt with other customers.
After wandering through the store for a bit, the trainer found herself browsing through the various jackets and coats. Most of them did not stand out to her. She had never been much into fashion and most of what she saw seemed grossly overpriced for what they were. Still, she had never really browsed through a clothing store thoroughly before. The variety of colors and designs were almost a little overwhelming to her. Some of the jackets were almost completely covered in pockets while some didn't even seem like they'd adequately cover her at all. What was worse was the fact that the latter jacket was even more pricey than some of its larger and more useful brethren. ”Who buys this stuff...?” she murmured to herself as she hung the ridiculously short piece of cloth back on the rack. She checked the clock on her pokégear. She still had ten more minutes before they would be finished with her jacket. Since she had already had lunch and the rest of her shopping was already complete, she had nothing better to do or nowhere else to go until then. Clipping the device back onto her belt, the trainer continued to browse through the store's jackets deliberately slowly to pass the time. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

She didn't really notice someone else coming in and browsing through the clothes, though Tristan seemed to be curious about the newcomer. Nonetheless, he stayed by his trainer's side unless that person actually came over to talk to them...it was not like she would anyway. She seemed like a solitary kind of person, someone who preferred to be alone in regards to making actual friends. Well, it might be nice to say hello to her once in a while, but the girl didn't really want to be bothered...yet. Meanwhile, the little forest spirit stared at a hat, probably thinking that he could wear it if he tried. Attempting to use his stubby hands to take the hat and place it on his head, his hand passed through it much to his dismay. To her, it was such a cute attempt that she took off the hat and placed it on his head as she spoke to him. "You're so silly, Tristan. That hat looks so cute on you though." The Phantump nodded before smiling, content that he did have a friend to at least play with.

The minutes passed slower than Elise had hoped as she browsed through racks and shelves of clothes. Among the jackets, she only liked one or two that had caught her eye. Neither seemed fit for traveling though. Again, they seemed to be more for those interested in keeping up with the most recent fashion and their prices were a little too high for the trainer to consider buying. She moved on to the shirts next. Among these, she found herself enjoying the selection as a whole much more. There was a good mix of both nice looking and practical shirts, sometimes even both at once. Eventually, the alarm the trainer had set on her pokégear began to ring, signaling that it was time to pick up her jacket. She refrained from sighing of relief. There wasn't much to do alone in a clothing store unless you knew you were going to buy something and she wasn't much one for window shopping. After silencing the upbeat tune coming from the device, the young woman began to make her way back up to the store's counter. Her pace was quickened by her eagerness to leave until she turned a corner and almost ran straight into another trainer and her Phantump. The ghost type seemed to be enjoying the hats that they were looking at just as much as the trainer was. ”Oh, I'm sorry.” Elise said. She put up her hand in a small wave as she spoke before resuming her stroll to the counter. As she approached, the man standing behind the register smile and waved in greeting. He told his customer that her jacket had been finished and was as good as new. He asked if she wanted extra work done and hinted towards a few styles that he probably thought would look good on her. The trainer refused the offers and the man disappeared behind a curtain to retrieve her jacket. Elise did not roll her eyes, despite the temptation to do so. Instead, she simply turned her gaze to the door and she began to wonder what she would do after she left the store. With lunch already out of the way and her weekly visit to the training grounds done, the only thing she could think of was to leave the city to explore and travel more. Which way would she go though? She was still a stranger to the region and knew almost nothing more than the locations of the towns and cities thanks to her map. Perhaps she would visit her mentor first though to show her the Ralts and Litleo that she had captured the day before and ask for advice on what to do next? She mentally shook her head at the latter thought. Instead, she decided to examine her map later and decide where to go from that. It seemed like the most logical choice that didn't have her bothering her mentor for something so trivial. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

Apparently, a girl had bumped into her and she did apologize for it before just leaving to go get something. It was apparent that this girl might be in a rush for something, but she should speak to her nonetheless. And then she would have to buy the hat for her beloved Phantump which he actually liked to wear upon his head. At least he liked wearing hats like all the other humans do anyway and it was strange for the other people to look at him like that. As she made her way to the cash register, the girl was there patiently waiting for someone, probably waiting for some clothing that she forgot to pick up. She figured that she might as well talk to her too since this girl might need the company. She took the hat off of Tristan, so that she could pay for it and then put the hat back on for Tristan much to his delight.
Without further ado, she spoke to the girl. "Hello. I haven't seen you around before. Where do you come from?" Hopefully, this wouldn't turn into an awkward conversation, but she tried anyway. Besides, this girl might look friendly despite her seemingly aloof demeanor.

Only a minute or so passed after the employee had ventured into the back rooms when the sound of someone approaching tore the trainer from her thoughts. Shifting her gaze from the door to examine the noise, she noticed the girl from before and her Phantump walking up to the counter. She watched for a moment as the other trainer played with the hat that her Pokémon was wearing. That seemed to get along quite well. Before she could turn her attention back to the door and her own thoughts though, the other girl had turned her attention towards her. She mentioned that she had never seen the foreign trainer around before and asked where she was from.
Elise eyed the girl that she assumed to be a local of the city or, at the very least, the region. She seemed the friendly and happy type, almost naïve in that way she had approached a stranger with almost no care. Her eyes flickered between the other girl and the ghost type beside her for a moment as she decided how to answer the question. There was no real reason to be rude, but she wasn't entirely excited about talking to a complete stranger either. Still, there probably wouldn't be any harm in entertaining her for the next minute while she waited for the employee to return.
”Johto. I only arrived a few weeks ago.” Elise responded. Her voice wasn't as happy or interested as the other girl's nor was it mean or rude. Rather, it was a very neutral sounding response. Her eyes glanced towards the door where her jacket was being kept. She could hear the sound of metal hangers clinking against each other as the man presumably looked for her item as well as casual banter between employees. After a moment, her eyes turned back to the other girl and her Phantump. She wasn't sure what else to say to the pair. What had she done to draw their attention in the first place, aside from nearly running into them?
She stayed quiet for a moment as her gaze fell on the hat that the Phantump was wearing. The price tag was still attached to it and dangling off of the back of it. The ghostly tree seemed to like it a great deal. ”Are you... buying that hat for your Phantump?” she asked. The question was forced out, though the other trainer probably wouldn't notice that past her calm and neutral tone of voice. She wasn't the best a socializing and she rarely every made a sincere attempt at keeping a conversation with strangers, but she didn't want the atmosphere to become too awkward or uncomfortable while she was still waiting for her jacket's delivery. Besides, the other trainer seemed nice and harmless enough. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

The other girl's voice wasn't having any emotion at all, just a little monotone vibe to it, but nonetheless that was okay for her. This girl also didn't seem to be talking with people much, but it felt like she should interact more. Nonetheless, the girl seemed friendly enough if not a bit stoic. The girl seemed to notice the price tag still on Tristan's hat as she asked if the hat would be bought for him. "Well, I am paying for his hat, yes. What are you looking for here?" She responded to the girl's question as Tristan seemed to twirl around, clearly just seeing if the hat was stylish enough for him. Probably the top hat was a better fit for his head no doubt and he did look like a certain gentleman from a video game. Nonetheless, this girl was nice enough to interact with.
