Moana certainly wasn't as big a city as Lani was, that was for sure. But it certainly wasn't a bad place either. The whole place had more of a traditional lean to it that helped one get away from the feelings of a big city, but had just enough modernization to it that made city dwellers not feel too far from home either. Overall it was a rather nice place, Maria Harper decided. One that was a nice get away from Lani that was only a relatively short distance away as well. For the moment though, Maria's attention was focused on the shops of Moana.
It lacked most of the big food or fashion chain establishments, but also provided some quite nice Moana original businesses. So far the bunny hooded trainer didn't see anything real eye catching though. Some recent fashion, some older fashion, it was stuff she'd seen already and hadn't necessarily been interested in the first time. Even then, if she was, well money wasn't exactly a luxury of her's lately. Sure, she'd managed to win some money from other trainers she battled, but it wasn't much more than enough to buy some food. Maria took a deep breathe before sighing. Hopefully she'd manage to swing a big pay day soon enough.
For the moment though, she was content to trawl through the market looking at things she'd be able to afford one day.

There was shopping to do and so little to be done entirely. At least, she did look forward to the various amounts of food courts and lots of stores to go to. Tristan and Serena were playing with one another, clearly enjoying the other's company. It was so adorable for the two to be friends with one another and care for each other as well. The people seemed to be staring at the ghost and the goat, but mostly just went back to going shopping in a store. Only the family's children seemed to be interested in the two playing with one another, but were otherwise dragged away by their parents. Either way, she did see someone that stood out from most of the busy crowd and it was a girl in a bunny hooded jacket. It was strange to see someone that had a jacket like that, but this girl was her age nonetheless.
While the Skiddo and Phantump played with one another in a game of tag, it seemed like the girl was trawling through the market and it was probably high time that she would make friends with her. After all, this girl was kind of cute.

"Sneasel!"
One of the eponymously named Pokemon dashed through the crowd, eventually catching up to his trainer, Maria. "Ah Murder, there you are. Did you get what I said?" The Sneasel held up a shopping bag in one claw, a triumphant grin on his face. "Sneasel!" Maria chuckled and began to pat her favorite partner on his head. "Good work." She took the bag from him with one of her hands and then withdrew a pokeball from inside of her hoodie's pocket, recalling her Sneasel. She pocketed the pokeball once more and began to turn around. With one quick step, the pink haired girl collided with someone, suddenly backing up instead. After a moment she regained her bearings to see a rather cute looking blonde girl. The usual look of amusement was gone from Maria's face. Instead it was replaced by something of a surprised look.
"Ah, s-sorry. You alright?"

Without warning, the girl bumped into her. She apologized immediately and asked if she was okay. Isolde responded back in a friendly tone. "I'm okay. By the way, I haven't seen you around before... Are you from around here?" She was rather curious if the girl was a native of this region possibly. It might be interesting to know that she was one of the residents of this region. The bunny hooded girl was probably out shopping in a huge place like the market, but her history was probably a mystery. Either way, bumping into someone was probably not the best idea to greet a person, but she'll let it slide this time. It was actually nice to meet someone her own age and she might possibly be a trainer of some sort as well.
Meanwhile, the Phantump and Skiddo had caught up with her after a playful game of tag, clearly curious of the other girl that their trainer just met. They had not the slightest clue that the girl was a stranger, though they didn't care as the bunny hooded girl before them was nice after all.

Well, that was good. At least Maria hadn't managed to make a complete fool of herself right off the bat. She blinked briefly at the question that followed the pretty blonde's confirmation though. "Hm? Well no, I'm from Lani City actually." Maria paused a moment. Now that she got a chance to really look the girl over the other girl though, it became apparent that she wasn't a native of Aina. "Ah wait, you mean am I a native? In that case, the answer is yes."
The bunny hooded girl raised a hand to adjust her glasses as she answered, ever so slightly askew after the collision. As she did so, a Phantump and Skiddo decided to join in beside their apparent trainer. Or breeder or coordinator or... Whatever the cute blonde was to them. After looking at the two Pokemon, Maria's vision drifted back to said cutie's face. "My name is Maria, by the way. And your's?"

"Oh, okay. I have not been to the city before, but I'm sure it's quite a busy place. I'm actually not from here as I'm from Hoenn." She responded to the girl's statement. And she had to admit that the girl was kind of cute with the glasses on. The girl did state that her name was Maria and she asked what was her name. "Nice to meet you, Maria. I'm Isolde and my friends here are Tristan and Serena." She responded to the girl's question with a smile. It was good to say the least that she at least made friends with the girl. Perhaps, she might be a trainer of some sort, but time would tell whether she was. Maria seemed to be nice and perhaps, she wanted to escape from the city life.

Maria grinned as Isolde smiled. There was something infectious about it. She waved casually to the two Pokemon that Isolde introduced. Neither seemed like ones that Maria would favor herself, but the Phantump named Tristan was cute in it's own odd way. "Heh. Busy is one way to describe it I suppose. Alot of tourists come in by way of Lani and then like to travel around Aina. I saw all kinds of different people when I lived in the city." Never did anything for that other feeling of her's though. Not that it mattered right now. Nope, not thinking about that. Just focus on the pretty girl. "But living in the city isn't everything. I wanted to get out and see the rest of Aina too. Hoenn though, huh? Now that's a long way from home. What brought you here?" Isolde certainly didn't seem much older than Maria. But she had heard before about some regions letting people as young as 10 years old go off traveling with their Pokemon to whole different regions. Who knows? Maybe Isolde was actually some kind of prodigy.

The girl seemed to be curious about why she had come to the Aina region in the first place. "Well...my parents had a new business deal over at this region, so we decided to move. I do miss Mossdeep actually, so I hope I can come back to Hoenn just to visit someday." She explained to the bunny-hooded girl. So...this girl actually wanted to escape the city life and it was relatable somehow. Most people who live in the city had to not like how their life was so busy that they had to get freedom in their own life. Maria seemed to be that type of person who was carefree and doesn't let anyone think of her as an outcast who abandoned her home city. Even more so that the other girl was kind of mysterious in a way and she just had that enigmatic air around her, almost like she was just a person without a past. Meanwhile, Tristan and Serena continued their adorable game of tag, not really paying attention to the conversation unless something interesting had been said.

"Mossdeep... That city in the middle of the ocean or something, right?" Hoenn was the place with all the water, wasn't it? Or was that Orre? No wait, Orre was the place with all the deserts. Well at any rate, she had overheard about that some odd things about Hoenn before from the odd tourist or several. She reached back through her hood to scratch lightly at the back of her neck, quickly realizing she was running out of things to talk about with Isolde. Who was she even kidding? This whole situation felt out of whack. What was a cute girl like this even doing talking to her? It made no sense. A low rumbling from her stomach caused Maria to grimace. "Ah, I probably should get back to the Pokemon Center. Got nowhere else to fix this stuff..." She muttered it aloud, unknowingly so.

"Mossdeep is the island that's in the middle of the ocean, yes. Frankly, it's hard to actually go to other towns unless a Pokemon can use Surf to get across the ocean." She responded to the other girl's question. Back in Hoenn, it was often that trainers would need the HM, Surf to get across from one town to another across the ocean since there was water everywhere. This hadn't stopped cooltrainers from using their Pokemon to surf across the ocean and it was pretty cool to do that. Probably when her Lotad evolves into a Ludicolo, she might consider using her to surf across the water of course. After all, these hidden machines paved the way to a whole new place. It was then that she heard a stomach growling and it had turned out that Maria was hungry. "Maybe we should get something to eat back at the Pokemon Center. It looks like you're hungry." She responded to the girl's mutter.

Ah. Maria guessed that Isolde ad overheard what she had muttered. Well, as long as she was offering. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I haven't had lunch yet. Just bought some groceries for the road. Or well, my Sneasel did for me. I've just been kinda window shopping." She chuckled a bit as she started to walk off towards the Pokemon Center nearby. "He's always been reliable ever since I got him from the Professor. So I can count on him to get my shopping done for me." A grin crossed her face one more, happy to avoid the anxiety that had been creeping up on her. "I've also got a Ponyta and Scyther that I caught recently as well. What sort of Pokemon do you have?"
Maria switched topics as they walked, curious to know more of the other girl. Certainly she saw two of Isolde's pokemon already, but she wondered if there was more than just them. "Admittedly, I've not put much focus on capturing Pokemon. I really should though."

"Well, I have a Ferroseed who doesn't communicate much, a Lotad, a Tropius, and a Honedge I caught recently as well. Your Pokemon sound like they must like you a lot." She responded to the girl's question as they walked together. The girl's Pokemon would most definitely like their trainer since Maria had said that her Sneasel was her partner in crime. At least the other girl did have some trust in her Sneasel somewhat, kind of like how Isolde's friendship with her Phantump was going strong. The forest spirit and goat decided to follow their trainer as well and they looked around their surroundings, sightseeing perhaps since it was a seaside city. "I guess catching Pokemon is really hard to focus on when there's also training and evolving them too. It does create bonds with them, so they like you more." She spoke as she nodded in agreement. It was quite difficult to look for a specific Pokemon as well since there were probably some other Pokemon that either unwanted or it was an alternative should she never find the Pokemon she was looking for.

"Heh. Well Sneasel and Ponyta do at least. The latter's a real sweetheart. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve a Pokemon like her. But Scyther though, he's really stubborn. Half the time, I kind of expect him to just run away. Always sticks around though, I think it's more for the challenge than anything." Maria chuckled a bit as she spoke, recounting the eccentricities of a couple of her Pokemon. Compared to the other two, Sneasel seemed like something of a mix of the two. A partner that both loved working with her and loved facing challenges down with Maria as well.
"Yeah, I know what you mean. Catching, battling, training, it's really something. And somehow it all feels right to me. Like it was what I was meant to do. I dunno, that probably sounds a little crazy. But it gives me a purpose and I like it." Maria shrugged as she finished her last sentence.

"I guess some Pokemon have their own personalities. Arthur is really quiet and sometimes I wonder if he's thinking of something. Tristan's more like a child that is curious about everything, but he is my friend more than anything else." She responded to the eccentric personalities that Maria had described of her Pokemon. Maria's Scyther certainly had that stubborn personality in him and her Sneasel sounded like it was a best friend to her and also someone that she could count on to do things for her as well. On the other hand, Ponyta was a good Pokemon for Maria to count on as well due to her Ponyta being very sweet according to how Maria described her. Then the conversation shifted to the difficulties of training and catching Pokemon which the latter was especially hard if the trainer had all six Pokemon to evolve. "It's good that being a trainer has given you a purpose to battle and evolve them too. I completely agree with that." She responded, nodding slightly. At least, the two Pokemon were having fun.

Maria chuckled a bit as Isolde spoke, a grin creeping onto her face as her eyes grew half-lidded. Overall, she had a very amused sort of expression now. "Yeah, that is true. Pokemon have as many personalities as us, right? So who knows. Bit of a shame we can't actually talk with them, but they do their best to understand us like we try to understand them." She shrugged again, her head tilting slightly as she did so and causing her ears to flop about slightly. Then the pretty foreigner began to talk about battling and evolution. "Yeah... That evolution thing is pretty amazing. Kinda makes me wonder why they can and we can't. But I'm no scientist or anything, so I probably just sound crazy saying that." Maria chuckled.
