Life's a Beach (Catching)

Nene hummed softly as she walked around the beach, looking around at the strange black sand that lined the ground. This was a strange beach, but a beach all the same and Nene liked beaches. She had a fully team at this point but it was always nice to have more alternates and to train up what she already had in order to assemble the best team she could and have different specialists for different situations in the kitchen. She wasn't particularly hunting for anything this time though, she was just out to see what she could see and train up as much as she could. She released Parsley the Bulbasaur to help her search. "Alright buddy, keep your eyes out for anything interesting, okay?" She giggled, enjoying the feeling of the black sand between their toes.

Nene continued walking along the beach with her Bulbasaur with a hum, twiddling her fingers as they went. As they walked they saw a large pokemon breaking rocks with its many hands by an outcropping on the shore. "Ooooh! Look how many hands that thing has! I bet it'd be great in the kitchen! Let's get it!" Nene grinned. Parsley on the other hand took one look at the thing, internally said 'nope' and turned the other way. "Awww, come on..." She then saw it breaking part of the cliffside with one of its angry chops and chuckled softly. "O-On second thought maybe we should just walk the other way..."

Nene sighed softly as they got away from the multi-handed creature, going to the other side of the black shore and spotting a giant rock snake. "Oh come on! Are there no parts of this beach without intimidating creatures?" She huffed. This one looked on the defense though instead of offense. She noticed a scar by his eye and hummed. "Looks like this one was driven out of his turf by the guy with all the hands." Nene motioned to her Bulbasaur. However the Onix was having none of this, tired of having its territory tread on and lunged out to attack the duo.

It swung its tail and spread spiky rocks all around Nene and her Bulbasaur, preventing them from switching out with its Stealth Rock. "Hmmm, don't want us calling reinforcements or running away eh? That's fine, I think we can handle someone like you." The Bulbasaur dug in its claws and nodded. "Let's go Parsely, Vine Whip!" She called out, ordering the grass-type to swing its vines hard, hitting the rock snake much harder than it probably should've given the size difference. The Onix roared out in pain, quickly spinning around and lashing out at the Bulbasaur with a Gyro Ball attack, swinging its tail at the creature and hitting it quickly. It was an impressive display but Parsley didn't seem very phased. "You'd probably do more damage if you took your time with that attack." Nene mused.

The Onix seemed to be getting frustrated with this. "Now Razor Leaf!" Nene ordered the counterattack, Parsely shooting dozens of leaf shuriken that cut into the Onix and damageed him even more greatly, he was on his last legs now. "Tired already? We're just getting started." She teased. The Onix roared again, letting lose a blue flame from its mouth for a Dragon Breath attack, hitting the Bulbasaur square on, doing a bit more damage this time but it was nothing to worry about. "Looks like all that training has paid off eh Parsely? We're tanking through this battle..."

"Finish it off with Vine Whip again! Show it the power of our Tentacles of Strength!" Nene called out, causing Parsley to lash out again with its vines, whipping at the Onix again and again, though he really wished that she would choose a better nickname for that attack. The Onix grumbled and collapsed over in a crashing heap. Nene smirked and threw a pokeball at the poor creature. "Looks like we should fix you up and train you a bit, maybe we'll find a use for you in the kitchen somewhere later~" She shrugged and chuckled softly. "Always good to have a giant rock snake around."
