Excitement coarser through the young trainers veins. Kaitlyn couldn't help but beam as the soft breeze blew her hair. Well, what ever hair could be blown since Kami had taken residence upon the young trainers head and definitely didn't want to move if the soft snores were anything to go by. Feeling a small nuzzle on her leg, Kaitlyn smiled. "Looks like you will be the first pokemon I battle with Hmm?" She said with a smile. She reached down to pet the Fennekin, accidentally moving her head in a way that caused Kami to slide off. The Pikachu proceeded to make what seemed to be vulgar statements towards the trainer before climbing up to her shoulder. Kaitlyn couldn't help but giggle. "You're weird, you know that?" She said to the Pikachu who responded with hitting the girl with her tail. Chuckling, Kaitlyn began to walk around, wondering what pokemon she would encounter first.

Kaitlyn let out a small gasp as she saw a meditite scurry infront of her. Her mind was racing as the prospect of having a new pokemon. Gripping an empty pokeball, she nodded to Kami. The Pikachu lept off of Niger trainers shoulder and got into a battle stance. "Kami, use Thundershock!" She called out to her pokemon. Kami nodded and threw the shock wave towards the pokemon. The Meditite gave a squeak of surprise as it was hit by the Thundershock. The Meditite turned around and ran towards Kami with its hand glowing. It hit Kami dead on and the Pikachu skidded back. Kami narrowed her eyes, and before Kaitlyn had a chance to say anything, she hit the wild pokemon with an electro ball. The Meditite fell to one knee, and Kaitlyn threw the pokeball, fingers crossed that it would be caught.
Summary:

"Damn it!" Hissed Kaitlyn. Catching the red and white ball as it flew back towards her, she decided that it was time to try another tactic. "Kami! Return! Let's try Blaze!" She called out, her brow furrowed. She did not want to loose her first Pokemon. Setting her bag down gently, she touched the egg before turning back to the battle.
Blaze leapt forwards, small embers flying out of her paws as she charged forward. "Sunny Day!" she called out. Blaze nodded and released a small ball of fire towards the sky. The meditite responded by using psych up.Once ir was her turn again, Kaitlyn called out another move "Ember now!" She called towards the fire fox. The fox pokemon responded by opening its maw, sending a shower of hot embers towards the fighting type. The Meditite attempted to dodge but wasn't fast enough and was hit by the ember. An orange flash lit up the Meditite's body, signaling a burn . The Meditite ran towards Blaze, hitting her with a confusion. Blaze hissed and used psybeam, hitting the fighting type dead on. Kaitlyn narrowed her eyes. "This time for sure!" she called as she threw the pokeball again, hoping it would stay in the ball this time.

Kaitlyn jumped up and down happily as the ball stopped rolling around. Picking it up happily, she stood on one leg, bent the other one, and made an "L" with her right hand. "I caught a Meditite!" She called happily. Kami smiled from her shoulder, her ears folded back happily, and Blaze gave a bark of happiness. The egg shook, but it went unnoticed by the celebrating trainer and her pokemon. "I think I'll name you Charm..." She said with a smile.
