Another Downward Slope (Catching)

Akira found herself back at the Seabreeze Slopes; partly because she rather enjoyed it the first time she came here, but mostly because she still wanted to catch a bird Pokemon. In her arms, she held an Egg she had received, which was being held in a protective case. When she called Eriko for advise raising an Egg, the woman was absolutely delighted, although she was slightly disappointed when she learned that Akira hadn't bred the Egg herself. Either way, the advice she gave Akira was proving to be quite helpful; suddenly the prospect of hatching a Pokemon Egg while traveling around wasn't quite as intimidating as it first sounded.

Either way, she she was keeping an eye out, looking for any signs of a potential Flying-type Pokemon to add to her team. She wasn't going to get distracted like she did last time...or, at least, she was determined not to get distracted.

Akira spotted the Fletchling and smiled, carefully setting her Egg to the side. She came looking for a bird, and this Pokemon was definitely a bird. Though it was one she had never seen before, prompting her to see what the PokeDex had to say about this bright red Pokemon;

"Fletchling; the Tiny Robin Pokemon. Despite the beauty of its lilting voice, it's merciless to intruders that enter its territory."

"...uh oh." And sure enough, the moment the small bird saw Akira, she turned hostile. With a smirk, Akira reached for her Tynamo's Poke Ball and sent him out onto the field. "Blanka, use Spark!" The Tynamo nodded, charging at the small bird with an electrified tackle.

The attack struck head-on, and, as predicted, inflicted a fair amount of damage. The Fletchling shook itself off, trying to ingore the damage he had just taken. Then, as flames wrapped around his body, he launched himself at the Tynamo, as though he was being propelled forward by the flames "W-wait...was that Flame Charge?!" Akira was quite familiar with the attack, as her Tepig had it for a while, so she was understandably shocked to see this small bird use it. Considering that it was a Normal/Flying-type, it made her wonder.

Regardless, that would have to come later. For now, she needed to catch this bird. "One more Spark should do it!" The Tynamo nodded, launching himself at the Fletchling with another electrified tackle. As the hit landed, the Fletchling hit the ground, visibly struggling to get back into the air. Akira nodded and took this as a sign that it was time. Grabbing an empty Poke Ball, she tossed it at the fallen bird. She was confident that it would succeed, so, rather than wait for the ball to stop shaking, she proceeded to check on her Egg. Thankfully, it was perfectly safe. Then she went to see if the Fletchling had been caught.
